I am not trying to hurt anyone's times or anything, but mainly this is to people of countries using SI units. 400 meters is shorter then 1/4 mile (402.3m). This will not apply to most people as they already know, this is just a reminder for people who hit consistently lower times then the next fastest person. Just helping everyone be on the same playing field.

Not trying to hurt anyone or anything, did you know that the "1/4 Mile" is actually 405m, not 402.6 like it's supposed to be and that your mile is actually 1611m not 1609m like it's supposed to be?? This was measured using the C4 WRC, so there's no debate on it's distance.

Looks like you imperial guys need to go back to the drawing board.

I just used Google 1/4 mile in meters lol, not my fault what PD does with their track.

Not your fault, but you guys will be duped into a false sense of "oh this is a genuine 1/4 mile but the 400m isn't". BZZZZ, WRONG!! Yours is as flawed as ours but atleast ours is 400m and says it's 400m, not 405m claiming to be 402.6m. :p

Very true. But I'm just putting this out their that if people are claiming a 1/4 mile time and it's really a 400m time, that they need to change their distance. :D

Maybe we should just accept that in the "gt5 world" that 1/4 mile is 400 meters and forget all the math and confusion and just race.:)

In case you haven't already learned, 90% of motorsport is math, engineering and all that "confusing" stuff.

Imperial guys?

Regardless of the accuracy of each, PD has implemented a proper timing system for testing/tuning purposes and differentiated the two units of measurement so that it can be universally understood and enjoyed. Can we just enjoy it and be sure that whatever times are posted are for the correct unit of measurement?

I use the metric system all day. :)

Once I used my mom's van. The whole gauge cluster was digital and for some reason there is a button that switches the units from standard to metric and vice versa. This was unknown to me at the time. I was driving along with traffic when I glanced at my speed and was shocked to see how fast I was going. Even more so at the fact that I was getting passed! I was going over 100. I slowed down so I wouldn't get pulled over and was getting passed real bad so I sped back up to keep pace with the rest of the traffic. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the 🤬 was going on. I was confused beyond belief as to why everyone was in such a hurry. There are no words to describe the relief I felt when I found out about the button. So now I can tell people my mom has a van with a magic button that makes it go faster:lol:

guys its not that hard, when you see a time change driver settings from kmh to miles or vice versa and it will convert the time in front of your eyes. when posting times for the ease of the majority of racers change to miles.

I didn't know that (:dunce: me)

What is being considered the "standard" mode to post times in? KM and 400m, or Miles and the 1/4 mile? I've been posting all my times so far using miles and the 1/4 mile, but if its more common to use the 400m i'll switch.

i did that but the other way around

i think it was canada, posted speed limit was something like 60, i was surprised why i was struggling to get to 60 and thought it was way too fast

then i realized i was trying to get to 60mph which is about 100kph

And there is NO possible way that the C4 WRC could be inaccurate since it is a car made in the same game, by the same people that you claim screwed up the 1/4mile and 1 mile distances.

Sorry but I believe PD over a car.

I just messured the 1/4 mile distance with the C4 WRC my self to see if this was true, but I was able to get the time to pop up at 404meters so 1 meter less than 405. But its very close to 405m

Then I had a thought, but I think my math is wrong here. (Which it probably is but I dont mind making myself look stupid )
I rolled my back wheels to be where my fronts would be at the start.
That was a 2 meter distance.
So if you take out that extra 2 meters the distance the nose of your car has to traval from the start to the finish to register a time would be 402 meters?

I'm probably wrong with my calculation here but oh well

Btw all you guys that said 1/4 is 405m an 402 so on so on is wrong i drag race in real life and there is 1320ft in a qurter mile and i typed in how many feet in 1 meter an it is 3.25 i did 1320ft divided by 3.25 an got 406.153846153 lol a exact exact 1/4.

I think you messed up your math turbo, 1320 / 3.281 = 402.3, used google for all the math

I must of... i just got dised lol i looked on google to find how many feet an i found 2 answers 3.25 an 3.24 so sorry if im wrong.
