Just got a Gamecube!

Went out and bought a Gamecube today for a nice sum of £25, nipped to gamestation and got 4 games for £20, Everything or nothing, Viewtiful Joe, SSX Tricky, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3 and then picked up ISS2 for £2.

Having fun with it so far, nice bargain bit of gaming, but, what games would all you GameCube owners reccomend outside Mario games.
 
Metroid Prime - it's the only game I ever played on the Gamecube and completed. It's still very good now and would love to play it again when I get the time.
 
Well, it depends on whether you want exclusives I suppose. If you have them on PS2/Xbox, whats the point?
I would reccomend the Zelda games (I am not a GC owner myself, although most of my mates have one).
 
Zelda's Collector's Disc. I think it has the original Zelda, (what I believe is the)Part II, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask. They were promotional, but I think you should be able to find a used one.

I know you said "other than" Mario games, but I must recommend the Mario Kart Double Dash. I also like Pikmin.
 
If you can, get Rogue Leader II. It's the best looking and most fun Star Wars game ever, except maybe Battlefront II. Animal Crossing is definitely worth a rent, you either think it's silly or you love it to death. Zelda: Wind Waker was really good when I rented it. I've heard great things about Resident Evil 4, and Metroid Prime, but I never played them.

Also, buy Super Smash Bros Melee. God Almighty, one of the best games of all time. Don't even rent it. Just buy it. You'll love it.

I saw Rogue leader 2 when i was buying my games but i opted for Rogue squadron 3 as the prices were the same and Rogue squadron 3 looked better by the box details, going on foot etc. Is Rogue leader 2 really the better one?


Thanks for the suggestions guys, Metroid prime sounds like a good one, we added 2 more games to our collection today, Luigis mansion and Burnout 2.

Duh. Going on foot is 110% overrated. You don't have any of the cool "X-Wing vs 15 Tie Fighters" dogfights at all. The flying is so much fun, the missions are better, it's more classic, better quality, more fun. However, I'm not saying RLIII is crap. It's good, but not nearly as good as RLII.
 
I've only ever played the Game Cube once and that was on Resident Evil 4 - it was enough for me to want to go out and buy a Game Cube just after 15 minutes on that game!


...i've still not got round to it yet.
 
Plus, after Wii comes out, I'm sure you'll be able to pick up GameCube for nothing.

yeah, I have the collectors edition. It is promotional so it pretty rare to come by sometimes. But its well worth a buy if you ever find it at gamestop or something.

You just reminded me that I need to buy it off at Amazon.com. 👍

Its so sad how I sold my Nintendo 64 away for store credit, including both Zeldas. Now I must get the GC version.

Thanks for the advice:D Went out 2 days ago and swapped RLIII for RLII and i agree it is much better, if a little harder..

They would be my recomendations from experience. 👍
 
SSBM is the unquestioned best game for the gamecube, next to metroid prime. Brawl for the wii is going to be the best.

Twin snakes Is AWESOME. Very great game for gamecube.

Ooooooooooh yeah. I know I'm partial to the Metroid series in general, but if you have a GC, you NEED to check out Prime 1 and 2. I know it's a term that's overused nowadays, but they're just plain AWESOME!!!! :bowdown:
 
Metroid Prime I and II were totally fun when I wasn't playing GT. Zelda collectors disc is kick@$$ and IMO WInd Waker was an insult to mankind....and if you have a few friends over, mario tennis or soccer or baseball is good times :) SW games are a must and stay away from Mario Sunshine :lol: What a pile of garbage that was :yuck:

If your a resi fan you could go for "Resident Evil" yes this is a remake of the original, the graphics are supurb and its still a great game, and on the pluss side, if you have never played it you can see what started it all off.

I also have "Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker" its comes with a second disk with "Ocarina Of Time" and "OOT: Masters Quest" great games. Ohh yeh and I have the legendary collectors disk too, if you can find one on E-Bay get it, its definatly worth it foe any fan of zelda games.

@ jup-ace: I actually liked "Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker" not the best zelda game but good none the less.

I forgot, get the origina monkey ball or any other for that matter, they have soem great party games on them.
