I had my first session with my new g27 tonight and honestly I didn't like it. Maybe I'm to used to the dfgt but it just didn't have the feel I'm used to and the pedals are so close together and the shifter is almost impossible to tell the right gear. I will give it a couple more tries and if I don't like it I'm returning it. Any suggestions to get more from wheel?

You'll need to give it more than a couple more tries to like/get used to it. just give it as long as you can(maximum time of return window) and play it as much as you can. the gears and pedals are non issues to be honest as you should get comfy with them after a while, same with the wheel tbh. will always be hard at first coming from another wheel. how long have you been playing your dfgt?

Jesus, dude, after 9 months with G27 you will never wanted to swap it for T500RS and Fantatec CSR Elite wheel.

Give it some time. It's the best wheel on the market.

I tried a case and it felt a lot more realistic IMO. And that was only for about 15 mins.

I find that tunes will affect the way it responds? Are you trying to drift, drag or race?

You just have to get use to the G27. Well it is a lot better than DFGT. Just remember the more times you use the G27 the better it will be.

have you tried repositioning you peddle faces? They each have three positions they can be moved too. The shifter just takes a minute to adjust to. Do you drive a manual irl? I had no issue shifting itself, mine was timing the great change with clutch application/release and gas application/release. Its gotten better since patch 2.11, but I still "miss" gears occasionally. I say give it a little longer to get used too. That said, not everyone is going to like something. Which may be the case here. I love Guinness, but my uncle will only drink Genny, nasty though I think it may be. Everyone is different.

Give it time, I moved from a DFGT to the G27 and I hated it at first. Just continue to use it and you will love it.

Opposite fell: I have had a DFGT, then I tryed a G27 at a friends house and was almost straight away in trim with the Wheel, liked it all the ffb, pedals, the shifter. So I tryed to take it on for a Online seasonal Drift trial. Just for the fun of it (I could not drift on my DFGT after 3 weeks of practice) - at 3rd try I had the bronze medal in it and had gotten gold if I did not had becamed to overwelmed! Since my DFGT had a brake pedal issue it was time to get a new Wheel, and I was convinced I should buy a G27 - But seeing so many videos and reviews of the T500rs I keept saying to my self if a G27 gave me that sensation what would the T500 reward me with? So ended up buying a T500, and quess what? I could not drift on it for about a month! I was pretty mad at my self for not going at the G27 since drifting was my main purchase reason. Now I had it for a year and would not have anything else - recently bought a used G25 while the T500 was at support team. That only proved me the G25/G27 are very good Wheels, but also very hard to go "back" on once you had something better and most important that you fell in sync with it! My point beeing, get used to the new Wheel set once you get addapted you will shake your head when you try the old wheel Again. !Keep at it, dont get scared right away! :)

Don't just don't  ,It will take time to adjust especially to the shifter but as an owner of a G25 and I do play with the DFGT various times at a friend, the difference is just massive, the pedals, shifters the whole lot.

Give it time also if you don't use the clutch then LFB. Good luck

You can adjust the distance from each individual pedal with the G27.. I believe.

Yes it does. This really comes in handy. I have found the perfect slot combination for me.

 Best wheel on the market? If you say so.

Sell it and grab a Leo Bodnar wheel if you want some brute (is that how you spell it?) force! ;)

If not, then get a T500. Best bang for the buck!

hmm... I went from a MS Racing wheel to a DFGT, Immediately liked the DFGT better than the MSWheel. Went from the DFGT to a Fanatec TurboS with standard pedals again liked it on the first lap. From there to club sport pedals, big improvement and then to the CSR Elite wheel with Club Sport pedals.

There was no adjustment time needed the DFGT felt pretty good the Fanatecs felt great especially after adding the CS pedals.

I use the paddle shifters most times but I also have the gated shifter connected and use that sometimes as well. I have never bothered with the sequential shifter though I have that as well. Never really used it much on the DFGT either.

As for the G27 being the best on the market ...... ummm yeah I don't think so. It probably is the best you can get new for under $300 though

I've always laugh so hard when someone is claiming that either T500RS or Fanatec CSR Elite is better in anyway. :odd:

G27 is less expensive, you get full setup wheel with pedals and gearbox, all ready to race. Wheel it self was in the market way much before those two appeared on the market. And those two companies had to make wheel not just better than G27 but more expensive so people would think, well yest if it's more expensive than it must be better. And the fact you have to pay extra money for gear shifter and even more for pedals. 3x:tdown:

I've had Logitech PRO and then G25 and now i'm using G27, also i've had a chance to play with Fanatec CSR Elite and T500RS, they both haven't ripped my head off. Worse! There was nothing exited about those wheels.

Ohhbaby44 If you still think that G27 is not for you then sell it, your comfort is the most important thing on this forum. Get back to using your DFGT and have fun with it. I've seen many gamers still using their DFGT's and never complain either wanted to change it.

Better things usually cost more money, and them costing more doesn't make them objectively worse than what's 'bang for the buck'. In everything in life there are price brackets so nothing cheap is an end game.

I haven't tried the Elite, but the T500 destroys the G27. It truly is a no contest, at least on pc sims/games (haven't tried it on GT5, ps3). Maybe your expectations were higher taking into account aspects none of those three do, like pedals and shifter that feel like driving a real car (those cost more than the wheel itself) or features that are sold separately (shakers and tons of other accessories out there).

Now, specifically in GT5's case I actually prefer the DFGT over the G27. No idea why, maybe the latter isn't supported as well as the first.

As someone who owns both a G27 and T500 I can tell you that yes, the G27, is a nice wheel and awesome for the price, but it is not even in the same league as the T500. If you want to debate which is best value for their price there is a discussion there, but to say T500 isn't better in any way is just a ludicrous statement. I've never used a CSW or CSR E but I've only heard great things.

I own a g27 and the CSW and have the same opinion.

Well it's definitely taking time to get used to. Much more sensitive for sure and you really have to feather throttle. I will just keep working at it.

The more time you spend using your G27 the better you will be at it.

Yeah DFGT has a couple of features above the G27, but overall, you should find it to be a better wheel. What makes a DFGT a more useable wheel, was the PS button, and on wheel controller buttons, the wheel itself should be inferior.

Keep in mind, the shifter of the G27 basically has 20% functionality when you try to include the clutch, it'll work in one situation, (clutch in, change, clutch completely out then accelerate) otherwise ignore it. If you use it without a clutch, its pretty good.

The wheel is quieter and more powerful (I believe), has a better covering, but more wires.

You are bringing a good point, although I love GT5, as a game, the difference of a better wheel really shows on PC sims, Nk-Pro or the AC tech preview are good examples.
The DFGT is surprising with GT5, since the more subbtle FFB effects, like feeling when front tyres start to loose grip, are not there to start with, so even with a better wheel you are not getting much more, simulation wise.
That said even GT5 is more fun with an Elite than a DFGT.:)

*UPDATE*

Just want to thank everyone for encouraging me to stick with wheel. Not only is it more enjoyable using this wheel (besides the clutch) but it has made me a much better driver. I can't believe the things I used to get away with on my dfgt. Not anymore. Actually have to use technique now. Thanks again guys. I'm really liking the g27.

Glad it worked out for you! It usually takes a while to addapt to new and better wheels, but as you now know its well worth it.

And like I said, you will shake your head once you got "it" 👍
