just got gt5 prologue...hopefully

so i made a hong kong account because you could do it in english, and i just bought the game, although i wasnt expecting it to work. whenever it asks for your address i just put in some bogus address like everyone says to do when making an account. then when i input the billing information i just kept the address the same. i wasn't expecting it to work, but just out of curiousity, and i am super anxious to play, i click "buy now" and it worked:dopey: it's downloading now.

now im just waiting for someone to tell me that i should'nt have done that and am gonna get in trouble for some kind of credit card fraud:scared: any insite on this subject would be greatly appreciated, although it's too late to do anything about it now.
 
What do you mean by "Hong Kong account" ? As if you are living there?

yea when i made the account it asks where you live, or what region, something like that, and i chose hong kong because it has an option to set the language as english, yet the games are still in chinese, i assume its chinese.

although doing it this way seemed to work, i am having problems getting the game to go online, it comes up with what i think is a error trying to connect to the server.

In chinese? Send me a picture of the error message, maybe I can translate it. I might be in japanese though...

with the combination of my crappy tv and not so good camera i can't get a clear picture, but i think someone had the same message and this is the picture he took.

then someone else on the thread said is says "Cannot connect to server".
i think maybe the servers for all hong kong versions of the game are down, someone said possibly till the the Blu-Ray is released on Feb 15th

Yes, that's what it says, but it doesn't say why. I don't have PSN so I can't help you a lot. Can you go online with other games? I mean, do you only have this problem with Prologue?

yea, any other games i have i can still go online, cod3 cod4 and then some other demos. like i say i think it just has something to do with the disc version being released on the 15th and then the servers will be up. thats what some other people were suggesting in a different thread. thanks for the help though:)

If anyone wants to get the game now by downloading it without a japanese billing address the Hong Kong PSN account seemed to work. Although it may be a risky way since they could see your billing address is not true and possibly get you for some kind of credit card fraud. I'm still waiting for that knock on my door from the men in blue :)
 
So what you're saying is you were able to buy the game with just a credit card in the Hong Kong store? No need to buy those PSN cards to buy it in the JPN store? How much was deducted from your credit card?

Yep,
Total Amount: HK$298.00 which was $39 US dollars. Like i said though it may be risky. I can't guarantee it will work, but it did for me.
 
hmm, this is very tempting indeed. What are they going to do? They took the money, they didn't have to ;-)

The thread I commented on was about the JPN PSN.

So I guess HK PSN will work? Have fun getting you credit card info stolen. People can actually make a purchase using a bogus address is to me more alarming then not able to make one at all.

This tell you how secure the PSN really is.........lol. good luck.

If you were talking about JPN PSN then i couldn't have been more wrong, i thought he eventually mentioned it was HK or asian PSN . yea the HK account does work, but i agree with the risk factor, i deleted my billing imformation immediatley, not saying my info still can't be stolen. I know i wont be doing it again, two reasons for that. 1. dont want anything happening with my credit card. 2. GT is all i need. :)
 
i think easiest way for you would be playasia, just wait less then a week (depends how much u pay for deliver) and you have a hard copy and never worry about stolen credit and so forth...

by the way... did it work or what? im bit lost in this thread.
