Woohoo eBay !!! Swooped from first time seller along with GT5P for about $16 a piece. Welp.. GT6 has some $ONY sleeve but no booklet..

I don't understand. They MADE me get FIT Honda FIT that is .. there's no more photo travel/shoot esque background with your lovely wheels .. no more Richy Hammond schooling you just a slew of text .. cannot even jump online without third license I thinks

And seriously, AI adjustable ? I think that took effect everywhere because even the first license events were making me try 0.o And I really like how they brought back some GT4 tunes slight remastered

So I knocked out the first license (except for the godforsaken coffee.. bronzed) . I'm sitting at 77 stacks (k). What's ma next move man ? :} Do I tune or nab another whip ? There's no more used lot ..

Just started playing yesterday. Do the Senna Time Trials, Even if you cant gold them they are worth quite alot of Money.

I dumped the Fit and got a EK9 Civic. It can do alot of the B License races.

Hm ..

So ya no more title screen !? PD NEEDS to drop an update which will have that photo travel/shoot style background with your wheels before you begin

And can you redo events now to get money ? GT5 sooo needed that -.-

AND THE PRIZE CARS I've been DYING to know.. so it's like GT4 that if you gold all you get the gold car then never have the chance to get the bronze/silver cars ?

No, in GT6 you get a car for getting half the stars in a license category, and one more for getting all of them. You also get one for completing all time trials, license tests, and things like that. Still, if you complete the Red Bull and Senna challenges, you should have enough money to buy most any car you want, especially if you keep re-doing the Red Bull standard championship.

Hope that helped! 👍

Hm .. sweet :}

And the Jukebox option ? I can't check out all the songs ? I can't disable the bad ones ? ;\

Pick up a C7 vette if you can, I think it's 60 grand. If you can't, go for the 2010 SS. Both of those are OP, and will take you through a lot of races.

And don't forget your free Mercedes VGT.

Actually the best advice you can give to a new player is to either wait or cheat the system into thinking you've already logged in for 5 days to receive the 200% bonus. It might not sound like much but if you play a lot it'll add up especially on your first day.

I just picked it up Friday. At first, driving the Fit and other lower performing vehicles, I was like "this kind of sucks!"...what's the hell's all the fuss about?!!

However, once I was able to get through that non-sense and into the higher performing cars I was more than hooked! Now I see what all the acclaims and fuss are about from peeps I know who like to race online and offline. The feeling of speed achieved and careening down a straight at 200-250+mph is more than exhilarating to say the least and very convincing.

And I don't have the disdain for the AI that others have, that I've read in these and other forums...they seem more than adequate for the most part, and the last 5 or so still give me issues from time to time on certain tracks.

I was struggling for a bit at first, but once I got the hang of the handling, reconfigured my controller and read up on some pointers regarding tuning the car, now the struggle is beating my own times...'except the Red Bull stuff, having a hard time with the second series.

I was getting through the Apricot track in my fully tuned up Caddy CTS-V (I have that C7 '14 Stingray 'Vette as well...but my CTS-V is a bit faster for some reason) in like 1:32-1:31, now after I adjust my cars and controller I've knocked the times down to about 1:25. Just by tuning up my ride a little and getting my throttle, brake and stick in the right settings I knocked about 7-seconds off my best lap.

The super high resolution drive-by camera playback is spectacular in my opinion, sometimes it looks photo real. Also being able to load up the telemetry of two separate runs, and comparing performance of the various times of different cars or the same car is really helpful as well. You can see where the car's performance is lagging or not tuned correctly.

I'm still new to GT6, but think this racing sim has been very well executed, a good hi-fidelity race simulator, not to mention very addictive for the auto-philes and race enthusiasts. I'm neither...well I WAS neither, now I may be.

Anyhow, just my $0.02.

Do yourself a favour and sell it again it will drive you mad. I am on the verge here of eating mine.:banghead::cheers:

Still cannot disable the chit songs ? Or see your lovely ride in a lovely setting as in on title screen that's nonexistent ? lol

Why has my thread gone invisible from subforum :{

My copy just came in today. Can't wait to feel the difference between GT5 and GT6....and my love for drifting!

Long time no see! :) I've just started getting into GT6, mainly because of running mixed stock car races online with Comfort Tyres. Check out my sig if interested.

Hi hope you well,👍 I have been off as I sold the game a while back. Then I rebought it and have been having a go but gave it up again as I have reached my limit. I spent 2.65 million on a zonda to win the last race on IA then passed the s-class licence 1 silver and the rest bronze and the last test at ascari with that veyron took me about 2 hours to get bronze really struggled. then cannot for the love of god do any of the s races so called it a day.
I just looked at the site you suggested and it says Shuffle racing, What is shuffle racing? I have never heard of it tbh.

What is shuffle racing? I have never heard of it tbh.

Shuffle racing was one of the best and most popuular online options in GT5 and could have been improved on GT6, but bizarrely was left out altogether.

In GT5 if you selected shuffle race the game chose your car for you. In order to create even racing the game varied the performance level of the car based on racers performance in the previous race - if they came last it gave them the best car in the next race. The range of this performance differential could be adjusted by the Host to match the skill range of the racers in the room in order to get even closer racing. The host set PP limits for the cars and would normally raise these slightly after every few races so that the car selection changed.

Shuffle racing was the best way for a Host to gain experience, a quick way of gaining friends for your friends list, the quickest and easiest way to find a good quality race online when you were short of time and a great way of learning to race on realistic tyres (road tyres were used). In a nutshell - it was utter insanity on the part of PD to remove from the game one of their crowning glories - particularly baffling given that it was so popular - I have been hosting races regularly since GT5 started and the only time I have ever had a full 16 people in a room is when hosting shuffle races.

Some Hosts have created their own form of shuffle racing on GT6 - hopefully they will tell you more about that, because I don't know anything about that.

Thanks for your reply it sounds like fun. I never normally go online with any game I have internet off on the ps3.
I dare not turn it back on as my son says every time I play a game if I choose to do the updates I could be waiting a long time for them to finish, I haven't had internet on for 4 years so I guess he is right. There must be a lot of updates waiting to jump on my ps3.
I may have to bite the bullet and get it done as I am enquisitive after your description of shuffle.
Any idea how long it would take to do all the updates knowing it hasn't been online for 4 years?

The updates for GT6 I would estimate at around 4 hours with an average connection speed. I strongly recommend doing the updates because the game has been greatly improved since launch. Also this game is transformed when you play with a group of friends online - it doesn't take long to find a group of like minded players. You can also have bad online experiences as some people play while drunk, swear, drive the wrong way etc. If you want to try racing online one of the best ways is to try garage racing - the game gives everyone the same car (you don't need to own the cars and you can't do any tuning) - generally that feature isn't used by idiots. Also check out GT Planet's online sections.

Picked up GT6 for $20. Had to get my favorite car, the SW22 MR2. Somehow PD managed to make the SW22 MR2 handle worse than in GT5, even after tuning. PD need to fix a lot with this car and many others. As for the SW22 MR2.

City of Arts and Sciences - Night_1.jpg

1. FIX THE HANDLING!
2. MAKE IT A PREMIUM MODEL!
3. Add the 94 spoiler.
4. Add the 90-91 model taillights and spoiler.
5. More visual upgrades.
6. Fix the sound.
7. Add the NA USDM model (5sfe 2.2l)
8. Option for T-Tops.

I'm requesting too much, but come on, GET RIGHT PD! At this rate I'm sure the SW22 MR2 will be another complete mess in GT7.

Like mentioned in another post, go to Vision GT and get the free mercedes vision gt ( not the racing, that one costs credits.)
The Merc Amg VGT is damn good for lots of races, great handling, lots of power.
You can reduce power in the tuning/engine section, same as in GT5

Hm .. sweet :}

Just looked into the gallery.
Go to gallery ( main screen left second from top)
down to MUSIC, all songs are in library, but select playlist
now you get 3 submenu's Background races/background menu/background slideshow.
press "right"on d-pad, you can play songs.
Now press "select" and on your right you get the option to remove out of the list..
want them back? press "O" and see on the right that you can restore to factory settings.

??wait what?? Gt5 had that, you could redo lots of events to get money, i used Tout france monza
with a cliov6 at 490pp( or was it 395pp?? can't remember) to get millions after one race. You just did not get the car gift anymore, once you obtained it.

You are 1 day too late, today the Nissan and Aston vision are removed from the online season section.
when you have acces to the season events ( i think you need to finish Beginner and National B)
there are now A-spec races, Beginner/intermediate/expert, these races can be done over and over.
Search the forum, there are a few ways to grind for credits.
I grinded at ROME at first to get my Audi TT coupe.
after a while i got credits form online season events and bought my a racecar (pescarolo hybrid)
When i unlocked international A licence in grinded Like the wind,Route X with the merc AMg VGT
when i unlocked the redbulls, i started grinding there.

O yeah, max credits limit is now 50.000.000 credits but it takes much longer then in GT5.

First i had to look what MR2 you used???It's the MR2 GT-S '97. So i bought that one

Ehhmm, yes, MR cars tend to break out the rear back in GT6, like they are made for drifting.
I added some weight and improved the weight balance, used the same suspension as my Roadster RS NC.
because i'm not used to this car it took me 1 second more per lap than the Roadster.
Like with my roadster, i got faster every lap.
I tried A-spec season event 450pp tsukuba.
And i used a wing on my roadster
Then added a wing on the MR2, and shaved off 4 seconds from the total time.
A bit slower than the roadster because the car tends to oversteer much faster

The problem is, the physics in GT6 are way different then GT5.
I don't know how long you played GT6, but the more you drive, the better you understand it's physics.

Point 2,3,4,5,6,7,8, you have to adress PolyPhony.

I think I might do it overnight just leave it switched on and downloading whilst I sleep. People swearing don't bother me you should see some of the over 18 sites I visit for a laugh, some of the people on here wouldn't last 5 mins on them. I don't have an ear peice for my ps3, do I need one to go online racing? Thanks for the advice.

The problem with doing it overnight is that you will need to click ok from time to time - each update downloads onto the PS3 then you click ok and it installs the download then you click ok again and it does a second part of the install. My advice would be to start it early in the morning then go and have breakfast, do chores etc and check on it from time to time and click ok as and when required.

(Added by edit) I just noticed your question about the earpiece - no, you don't need one to go online, however my one (EX03) was only about £10. It is nice to be able to chat sometimes - especially if they are your online friends.

This is a pain I suppose I could start the download switch the tv back to sky so the small kids can watch then now and again just check if I need to press ok. I cannot be bothered to move the ps3 as it is wired in to the wall with the tv being up there. My elder son he's 19 said he has got a couple of ear pieces so sorted there. And I paid for both them apparently!!!

Yes - that's what a friend of mine does - switches between every so often to check on progress.
