Hey,

So I've been on Gran Turismo 5 hiatus for a very long time. With the release of Forza 4, I bought a Playseat and used my dusty Official 360 steering wheel. Forza left a lot to be desired so I moved back to GT5 and decided to pick up the G27 as well.

Everything arrived today but I'm already having an annoying experience.

Main issue: I bought the consolidated brake pedal, you basically turn the clutch and the brake into one big pad for easier access to the brake pad. It works, sort of. Every time I hit the damn thing, car is slammed into neutral due to hitting the clutch which makes the car go all spastic and requires a gear change.

Without this big brake bad, the brake is placed right in the middle of the bar holding the steering wheel, so you need to have your leg at a crappy angle which hurts my knee badly, basically making it unplayable.

So how do I turn the clutch function off and keep manual gears?

Secondly: How do I up the sensitivity even further? Put steering sensitivity to 7 and the steering options to "Professional" in Settings but I actually have to cross my arms for full steering lock which is far from optimal, means even tiny spins are certain disasters and after 2 rounds my arms are about to fall off.

It's making it hard to enjoy this quite expensive setup ...

Appreciate any help :)

i dont think you can...

is this an american invention for automatics simulation?

and ofcourse you have to turn the wheel, the wheel has 900 degree so the game uses it.

i think only the degree can be adjusted on the fanatec wheel.

Well, that sounds rubbish.

This is the item I'm talking about http://www.playseat.com/shop/us/us/playseat-g27-g25-brake-pedal.html And it's made for people who like to use the paddle shifters but don't like clutches or just don't use manual gear at all.

And just because the wheel can spin around a million times, shouldn't limit the option of actually being able to steer the car without having to cross your arms every other second :)

You could swap the brake pedal over with the clutch pedal.. Of course you would have to open up the case and swap the wires over.. Or just remove the middle pedal and connect the wires to the clutch.. You will need to swap the springs over inside the red part of the pedal as the brake has a stronger spring. None of which is hard.. Search youtube for chillicoke if you want vids showing you how to open up the case. ;) Regarding wheel settings use the simualiton setting and leave steering sensitivity option at 0. I use those settings and dont turn my wheel more than 90 deg. HTH 👍

From what ive driven in GT5 for nearly a year ive never really needed to turn the wheel more than 540 degrees for most races.probably not even that much only on hairpins.

Thanks for the advice man, going to open it up and disconnect the clutch :)

In GT5, you CAN use the clutch.
A way to turn it off is just not pressing it in.

As for the steering you can try a hand over hand for quick maneuvers. That's how I learned to drive quickly during my EVOC.

Did you try moving the brake and clutch pedal plates to the left to move it away from the bar? I did that to make it easier to use with my wheelstand pro.
