A friend and I just got robbed...we started the trade and he deleted us...is there anything at all we can do? I have his PSN and would love to post it here to warn people never to trade with him again. I gave up my fully tuned Range Rover...so I'm kinda upset): help?

Send me a request on psn I can gift you a range rover after reset,
I think mine is 0-0-0.

I was trading for a Camaro Edge Special...he said a few people traded them to him (he indeed had a few) so I believed it...he had good reviews too, which is odd.

The Edge Camaro can't be traded anyway...or can it in the US?

It was no coincidence that he deleted two people and has been non-compliant since/: I wish it was so.

That's what I thought...but he was only level 13 and had at least two of them...

You can't own 2 same DLC (stealths, chromelines ) cars I think 👍
And it's untradeable 100% sure ....

Probably...but it's relevant to marketplace, and I didn't feel like it belonged in Q&A. More like a problem that needs a solution.

If its any consolation to his multiple DLC cars, he mentioned that he jail broke his ps3...

I thought the only cars you couldn't borrow are the ones that cost £ directly,
Ie not ones with codes

Wrong. All DLC cars are locked. You can set them to online but no friends may borrow them. And that includes cars received via codes, even the free giveaways like the Scion FR-S cannot be borrowed.

Pretty obvious he was a liar and troll then. You cannot access PSN/online play if you have a jail broken PS3. Even if he had his PS3 jailbroken than went back to normal his (most likely hacked) save wouldn't have been working.

Since the Edge Camaro is a special edition car which can't be colour/rim customized, the only thing he could have done to 'proof' while in the lobby he has the cars several times would've been showing off obvious different suspension settings, since that is the only thing that could be changed on that car's visuals.... and that can be simply changed using the car's setting. So... how did he proof it?

On a side note, as mentioned already that car cannot be traded anyway. The only way of 'trading' it would be if he gave his code to you, as long as he didn't redeem it.
 
Ye sorry your right you can share stealth cars but people can't borrow them.
Kind of like in your face.

One had ground effects and the spoiler and the other did not...he didn't leave the session to access GT Auto.

I wish they were still running that promo lol:/

To this point, Gatorbait's behaviour has been entirely appropriate.

The behaviour of the people trying to get him to PM them the offending PSNID has not been. Trying to encourage or cajole others into breaking the AUP is a problem that will be dealt with.


To answer the question, no, unless you have backed up your game save prior to gifting your car to someone else (and remember, that's exactly what it is - there is no trade feature in GT5), there is nothing you can do. Incidentally, the Camaro SS Edge Special is a DLC car and cannot be gifted.

Thank you! I won't fall for anymore trickery and I'll back up my gamesave from here on out before I make a trade. It's a shame those cars aren't available for us to purchase, but I suppose that's what makes them rare and exclusive. I just don't understand how said person obtained two of them, long after the promotion had ended. Alas, life shall go on! I've created my own version in another game so I guess it's close enough.

Since the last update doesn't GT5 make 2 gamesaves? I wonder whether the backup gamesave would still contain your car?

hmmm I could search for it. I guess it all depends on when the other gamesave last overwrote.

Search if there's any difference in the game days, if the back up it's 1 or 2 days behind you should still have the RR :)

Heck, I was thinking somebody was going to trade me their GT Academy Special (The DLC Version, unknown to me at that time.), and scammed me straight out of a Speed 12. I was less than impressed, but to this day I refuse point blank to trade in lobbies. Just too risky. Find it odd that the guy didn't delete me though, just refused to reply to my messages of "Displeasure", shall we say. :lol:

Karma was served however when his Status changed to "WTF GT5 SAVE CORRUPTED".

I'm afraid not. As he deleted you, you won't get into the funny situation I found myself in. So unless you can find him in a lobby one day - and hasn't blocked you - you could query him there. Sorry but that's the cruel world of the GT5 Trading Lobbies . 👎

Serves him right! I've had quite a few strange things happen to me...one time I traded with someone who I was already friends with...a Ford RS200 for my TommyKaira ZZ-S. He took a screenshot proving that he had sent it to me (and he's a good friend so I believed him) and I never received it :( He got mine though, it was all rather odd.

I kept scanning the lobbies and joined a few that he was in but he kept leaving right away...I take it he eventually gave up :( A friend of mine added him on a different PSN and reported him in-game and such. There should be a way to get your car back, should they decide to un-friend you. An actual trading feature wouldn't be bad either...
