Hey, just to let you know the Driving force pro is now out! Got mine last night and boy is it sweet! Its a very good peice. Its so smooth and fluid compared to my old force wheel. The shifter is awesome. the pedals have been redesigned and they feel better, the brake is alot stiffer now and yes you can get 100% brake in gt3 with this wheel. The steering wheel is the same as far as the size but is much more thicker. All of the buttons are in the center of the wheel and the grip of the wheel is awesome. If you are playing Gt3 you can't turn 900 degrees after calibration but they claim it will with the gt4 software, with the wheel unplugged it will turn 2 full revolutions either direction. Well just a wheel update, I can't wait for the new game!!!!!!! By the way I bought mine at Babbages for 150.00 I am sure they will have brought the price down by the time the game hits the shelves.

I sure hope so :)

Btw, can you test it out on PC and see if its compatible?

Also, did you try it with any other ps2 games?

cant wait till I get mine :)

it works on the pc, shows up as a driving force...force feedback and everything, only 200 degrees though...I tried it out earlier, back to prologue =P

asssssss kicccckkkeeeaaagegggeee!

:) great :) i wont mind too much if its only 200degrees as it probably can be unlocked in the future since that part seems to be triggered by 100% software :)

did you have to install driving force drivers ? what os are you using?

Nice, time to sell my old Logitech Wingman Forumla GP (PC):):trouble:

great :)

things are going my way recently it seems.

Ho God thx a lot man for the reply and btw your prologue version run on a chipped ps2 ?? or i can find a version who can work ? and for finish (if you have time ) tell me a little bit more on the steering thx a lot man ciao

I haven't tried it out on the PC. I have an Act Labs force rs for the PC with the gated shifter. Has anyone heard if the new gt4 software will let you use another wheel besides the logitech?

that's so cool.

the reason I say it is because how it doesnt do it with normal games but with GT4P it does, so the game is sending the wheel signal telling it to work in 900 mode.

and as PC stuff goes, someone will crack it someday and enable 900 mode for us :):trouble:

im sooooo ready to get this wheel.

can you actually "throw" the wheel around tho?

as in when sideways flick it without getting resistance from the feedback? guess thats a bit much to ask, lol.

but just wanted to check.

Well ive tried it out on the PC and it works perfectly. I used the Driving Force drivers from logitech and it works fine. (using Windows XP)

hmm for some reason mine doesnt freely go 900 degree when turned off :irked: maybe I need Prologue to unlock it first and maybe it will free up :)

When I was playing Colin Mcrae Rally 3 on PC the wheel became very free to move (driving in the game was fun but i got minimal force feedback compared to GT3). But what im trying to say is that since it was really to move the wheel you can probably throw the wheel in Prologue (not alot but still some).

Good on ya M8, thats sound excellent, can't wait to get my wheel here in the U.K.

Ooo so it works with PC too? nice!

New wheel sounds great but I won't be buying one unless I can sell my old one Driving Force wheel to my mate :) Already got two wheels hehe :D

You can't exactly throw real wheels around when sideways.. they generally have a tendancy to counter-steer, so there will always be resistance (unless you're aqua planing, or on ice). Even locking the brakes leaves some steering weight when turning the wheel (jacking forces caused by caster/kpi, and the inherent friction in the steering).

yeh I realise that it will have resistance, but with the older GT3 wheel you couldnt just chuck the wheel into a turn without getting an unusual/bad mechanical noise which made me feel guilty.

lol

Hmm since it works with PC, i wonder if this works with XBOX? I am interested in Gotham 2 for xbox and i hear xbox doesnt have a decent wheel for it yet.

and this wheel is still not available in IL :P

BreakerOhio, you can only get the 900° with GT4.

Oh, I want this thing  !!!Is it true they will bring it out in a pack togheter with GT4 at a cheaper price?

That is excellent news. It's only a matter of time before there's software to run the 900 degrees on the PC - at the risk of seeming cynical, I'm inclined to think GT4 is one giant test bed for Logitech and the 900 degree wheel.

As anyone who has read any of the other threads on this wheel knows YOU CAN rotate the wheel 900º in GT3. All you have to do is press Select+R3+R_Paddle while in game. I just got it today for Christmas and it is totally sick. It takes a little while to get used to, but definitely gives you better performance.

I'm kinda tempted to get the wheel when it comes out, even if it means i'll have to move my tv every time I want to use the wheel.

I don't think using it on my lap with 900 deg rotation would be comfortable.

I'll be getting it in Jan. The desk my TV is on folds out so Ican just attach it to that.

As Logitech describes it, it will automatically turn to 900 degree turn when the correct signal is given from the software. So far GT4 is the only game I've heard of that should have this compatibility.

Oh, and here's a pic for who might need a peek on the wonder:

It is listed under PS2. Is there different versions of it, or is it just mainly for PS2 use?

I'm getting one none the less. Deff :)

I've used this wheel with Mod racing and it works great, including some of the best force feedback I've had ...
