Turning the ABS off doesn't help at all. The other cars will still hit you and spin you out.

Hug the yellow line. Follow the racing line and go up to the wall is just asking to be pit by the AI.
FYI, I leave the car stock, turn the ABS and everything else to 0, beat it in first try.
 
I haven't been hit at all by another car at any point in the Nascar series... but I've moved across them plenty (to my great cost).

Any contact to the rear quarter of your car will spin you if you're on the power, don't try to block other cars on the road circuits, it ends badly!
 
road courses where the easy part, lower your top speed for more acceleration and just run away from them. you can turn the aids back on for those if you have to since the turns aren't as long as Daytona.

Daytona was the only one that pissed me off since i was being pit maneuvered every time. I lowered my top speed so that the car would hit top speed just before the turn. I bounced off the rev limiter while in the draft but once out front i was able to stretch my lead coming out of the turns long enough that i could run on the straights by myself and getting a bump draft entering the turn which slowed them down and pushed me through the turn faster. Think i set my top speed to 224mph so it was bouncing at the rev at around 218 mph.

So how did you manage not to get spun out by the AI?

Soft tires ABS=1 TCS to suit your style I found that I had no issues on any course except Daytona. My Bspec Bob had some issues on Grand Valley but I did not.

For the road courses it "seems" like the AI cars are out accelerating you, yet actually follow their lines and you'll understand why. They tend to go into corners slower, which means their tires are in better shape and they have a better line coming out of the corner.

I was a bit frustrated too at first, then realized if I braked a bit sooner and went easier on the brakes into the corners, I'd have more tire left coming out to hammer the throttle. If you're having problems on the Nascar road courses, it is cause you're too hard on the brakes.

Daytona sucked and I got spun out in traffic. I hate the AI cars turning into you when you have the inside line. Some will say that I probably cut them off, yet the car infront gets to set the line, the car behind doesn't get to turn into the car infront just cause they are taking a different line.

turn off ABS, hug the yellow line, turned my top speed to 224, eased up on the downforce for top speed and stay out front. trying to race in the pack is asking for rage.

I'm pretty sure the set up your saying you used is this one but it worked really really well for me with a combination of LSD tune and Tokealots tune. I had it the throttle full around corners and would hardly spin. IDK it makes it alot easier but you still gotta know how to drive.

Thats the one, Sirtokealot rocks, he got a couple of sweet tunes for the toughest races.

I turned active steering all the way up. This helps me as I'm not as smooth on the sticks as most folks are, I bet. Also lengthened my gears a bit, topping out around 240, I believe. YMMV.

A question, though--I've read about B-spec Bobs blipping the brakes going into the corners in the Daytona event. Do the AI drivers do that in A-spec/B-spec as well?
 
I've golded everything except the Daytona, I gave up yesterday after being spun out 9 times in a row by the a.i.

One time I was pushed backwards along the wall most of the way down the track, another the guy spun me and then another one spun me back in the right direction and I was able to keep going, brilliant creatures really.

Hopefully I can get it tonight.

Yup same boat as you now. Ive won the championship, and have gotten gold in every race, except for my daytona, it displays a 12th position lol... Its all I do is that race or b spec now.
 
Daytona was one of those tracks that I had almost given up on. Using the Joey Logano #20 TOYOTA CAMRY '10 went back and changed the oil, bumped the HP up to 892hp went back to the track left all my tune setting to default.

In the race once out front, held to the inside trying to not give the pack behind my draft, at some points in the race had to check block the pack to keep them behind, lost position once, but regained first quickly.
 
me i had a blast with this series. i struggeled with daytona for a while untill i found out about the abs thing. After that daytona was easy. I actually ended up leaving the abs off thru the whole championship run. It was quite fun, not easy but fun. You all ahve to remeber these cars are very heavy for a race car, they also have comparitivly narrow tires, 800 some odd hp and suspensions with roots in the 50's. the rear end is held in place with U-bolts for the love of god. keep all this in mind during set up and racing and it should help a lot.
