Just lost my data

Hi Guys,

I just lost my GT5 data. I have turned my PS3, ran Gt5 and when I go to GT mode, I'm lvl 0 with 20.000 credits. Now I don't know why it happened but is there any way not to start everything from the scratch again? I was lvl 20 and it took me 3 weeks to get there and I don't feel like starting all over again. I already know that I can't use any of my friend save games as those are attached to your PSN acount but maybe there is a way around it? I'm a bit devastated at the moment to be honest and I really count on your help here.

No replies so I guess starting everything from the scratch is the only option I have... :-/
 
Yup start everything from scratch, make sure this time you back up your save data
 
You should be able to get to level 20 in like 5-6 races with the seasonal events. You'll just need someone to send you a nascar and you're away :)

Do enough Seasonals and you will be level 20 in no time with about 5 million credits. If you are stuck I can send you a NASCAR Camry that I used in the Series and for the Seasonal Race.

If you can Gold that you get to Lv 16 or so instantly. Even with my ability I can just about hold it together enough in that event to win comfortably using some assists!

Send me a Friend Request and I can sort you out as I have the car on an account that I have not Gifted from today yet.
 
The last race in the seasonal races #3 will get you from level 0 to 17 if somebody feels like gifting you a C4 WRC.
 
If you get to Lv 16 with NASCAR and can Gold the Loeb Rally Challenge (which I think is Lv 16) you will get the C4 WRC. I'd offer a C4 WRC but I don't have that on the account with the available send, just the NASCAR Camry.
 
Thanks for the tips guys, will focus on seasonal events and will see how it goes. I have 2 kids and wife at home so maybe 5 hours per week for GT but hey, will find my way back to lvl20 and higher :-)

Do you have multiple PSN accounts for the kids or wife? Did you login as one of them?
 
I lost all my data on my main account yesterday morning & now my other two accounts are doing the same BS. Looks like I'm back to restarting the game. A-spec was halfway to level 31 & had 280 cars in my garage. :mad:
 
It sucks that this is happening, I'm level 34 b-spec and 25 a-spec, I went out and bought a little 8 dollar 2gb memory stick to save my data on. The 8 dollar investment to save yourself 850 days of playing time and another 850 days to get back where you were is very cheap.
 
Actually my main account was fine until I started to use a flashdrive to back up my game progress so I wouldn't lose it. Kind of ironic if you ask me.
 
I wish the saves were online.

If you wanted to trade cars etc, it'd have to be online. This would prevent duping.

If you had an offline account - everything from it would stay offline (and you could backup via usb).
 
From the looks of it my saved game files on my computer look ok but when I go to upload them to restore my account the PS3 is only seeing part of the folder. The full size of the folder is 882kb but the PS3 is only seeing 33kb on the flashdrive. When I put the flashdrive back into the computer all 882kb are there. It's like the PS3 can't read the whole folder for some reason.

In the process of doing a Full Format on the HDD on the PS3 now. When that is over in about 14hrs, I'll make one last attempt to revive my main account & my other two accounts. If that fails then I'll be starting the game over.
 
Are you certain that your backup on your USB Stick is in a folder called PS3 and in this folder you have one called SAVEDATA with your backup folder inside? Otherwise the PS3 won't recognize the data… I really feel for you mate, you know before the GT5 saves were able to be copied I actually bought another external harddrive just to make a whole backup of the PS3 in case it would die on me.

Hi guys,

RogsR34UK has gifted me NASCAR camry yesterday. i have started from the scratch, lvl0, did 2 races in seasonal events with camry, finishing 5th and 2nd and end up on lvl15 and 750k credits - that's about an hour of play. I'll probably do the same today with other seasonal event's (tsukuba and Mazda rx-7 maybe) and probably end up somewhere around lvl 20 and 2 mil credits.

Then will slowly do all those races from a-spec, but am not so exited about lvl1 sunday cup etc. so wi will see, might skip those :-)

I would definitely suggest doing the last seasonal #3 bonus race, it's a doddle and offers huge rewards.
 
I feel your pain...I lost mine during a snowstorm brownout/powersurge at level26. Just got back up to it after 10 days. Backing up to a flash drive now.
I haven't been as lucky with the UCD listings...I got the Diablo race car last time, can't find it this time around.

Anyway, you gotta grind away.

Your PS3 will only recognise 4GB and in FAT if you have a usb which is larger and in NTFS your PS3 will not find it, check your usb if it is above 4gb and NTFS split it and FAT format it (first save the data to the PC that is). Then add the PS3 save data back to it.

Funnily enough though both my USB sticks have been playing up as of yesterday both my PS3's find it hard to find them and then an error occurs sometimes when trying to copy to them !
 
Fat 80gb with memory card slots FTMFW :D

I backup my save data daily to my flash drive, and weekly to a SD card. So far so good (knocks on wood)

I can see everything in the PS3 folder on my computer. Everything was fine until I started doing the saves so I don't lose my stuff, ironic that I lost everything while trying to be safe & backup my game.

I read somewhere last night after putting my PS3 to full format that USB sticks needed to be FAT32 for the PS3 to be able to read them correctly. Weird part was that I was using a USB stick(1GB) that was formatted FAT & it was working fine until yesterday morning then my PS3 decides to **** itself & lose my main account. Am I incorrect in understanding that a 2GB or lower should be formatted FAT & if it's 4GB or bigger to format it FAT32?

My PS3 is finally done with the full format & I'm in the process of installing GT5.
