Hello, 1st post in these forums, Very new to the game. Is there anyway to create a Team/Clan with friends? Seems like they missed a trick if not with there being a livery editor.

Also im currently using a pad and playing with the idea of a wheel and a playseat challenge (Need something that folds away). Obviously a wheel will enhance the realism of the game but what produces quicker lap times? I don't really want to be spending the best part of £300-£400 to be slower than possible with a £30 pad.

Cheers for any replys.

Your first few weeks may be a tad slower on a wheel till you're used to it then you will definitely be faster.

I switched from pad to wheel and initially found it very challenging. Took a good few months before I felt comfortable (not fast). A year on, I can now be fast and competitive.

Stand wise - the GT omega stand is great and folds down.

Yea I don't really have a suitable chair for a stand so was going to go for the 'playseat challange' (seat/stand combo that folds away) I think a wheel is the way forward, to be honest I enjoy a good battle in the middle of the field so even if my lap times reduce its not a huge deal if it's temporary.

Cheers guys, any idea about creating teams?

I don't believe that there is (currently) any way to create a team short of you creating a livery scheme and getting your friends to apply it to their cars.

You can share liveries online and then other users can save them to their 'online library' allowing them to be applied to cars etc.

Years ago I had an Obutto cockpit, the cheaper one of the two they sell, and it took up too much room. I'm in the same boat, thinking about the Playseat Challenge. Honestly I'm beginning to like the looks/functionality/practicality more than setups that cost 2 or 3x as much money.

Same here, it looks like a over priced deck chair but from watching reviews on YouTube it seems like alot of thought has gone into it, and it's practicality is spot on, you can also change the angle of the seat which is ideal if you play other racer games such as F1.

I bought the playseat evolution. It compacts to be easily put away in a cupboard as it only take a few hand bolts to break it down and the seat folds in half.

On the wheel front, for the money you are talking you can't beat the Logitech G29.

Hi, welcome to GTPlanet!

Yea the space a standard set up requires always put me off, my missus would Hit the roof if it couldn't be hidden away, think she thought I'd be over gaming by the time I'm 30... Silly girl.

I was going to get a logitech G29 as the pedals were better but then I noticed the T150pro which comes with the T3PA pedals. I'm concerned Logitech will pull the same move when the PS5 is released like the G27 not working with a PS4. I can't imagine the PS5 is that far away (2, 3 years max) but thrustmaster doesn't appear to make people upgrade their wheels every generation.

Cheers for the replies chaps, nothing but positive reviews for the PlaySeat. Might hold off for Black Friday before getting them both.

Playseat Challenge + G29 here, had before a Wheelstand Pro, which was also really amazing. But love the Playseat Challenge, need 1 to 2 minutes to build up or store in the bathroom.
