Just played Spa online

Just played the new Spa track in an online lounge. Never bought the DLC so I was quite surprised when I entered a friends lounge that ran it. First I thought the game would naturaly kick me or prevent me from joining the race, but no, it was perfectly possible to compete on it. Had a good time racing it. Might get the DLC though Im looking for a PSN card, as I wont trust Sony my Credit Card information after the spring fiasco.
 
I had a feeling it would be possible and drive the new dlc cars from the recommended cars list.
 
That's because both new tracks and all the new cars were included in the 2.0 update. All that's happening when you purchase the DLC from the PSN is you're unlocking the content that already exists in the game.
 
So much I gathered already. What surprised me was that the new tracks arent disabled for those who dont have the DLC. My expectation was that I either would have been blocked from entering the lobby or prevented from joining the race.

Why?

It's just the same as the course maker courses, as long as the host has it it's all good :)
 
I drove it online from the U.S. ... epic track. Up there with Nurb as the best in the game bar none. As long as I can drive it online I may not even buy it now, LOL. FU for delaying us PD.
 
What makes me wonder is what will happen if they make seasonals using this track. My thoughts on it would be that because everyone already has it (it just isnt unlocked), everyone could still run the seasonal without actually having purchased the pack. It's just speculation until they actually do it, so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
 
Maybe there will be DLC specific events that give more credit and XP than usual seasonals...now THAT would be cool.

PD wasn't the one to call for the delay. If you see Kaz's tweets it said he learned from SCEA that THEY were delaying the release. Good ol' SOONY.

Aside from the $5 part.

I'm ok with online racers to leach. I race online almost exclusively; so yay me. It gives North Am. a preview. Granted, I already have a $10 PSN card in my hand; so I in effect have bought it and something else down the road already.

Maybe Sony hacked themselves to get everyone to buy more PSN card money than they need. Whoa, I just blew my mind.
