Just started £ spending advice...

Just started with GT5, doing the A spec thing... I bought an 05 Evo and spent abit of money making it lighter. But I was then given the Mugen Motul Civic, this car is faster but it has less HP... Must be to do with the way the cars setup right? Ie suspsension etc?

I was going to blow 100k on the racing kit for the Evo, is this a good idea? Will it be faster than the Civic if I do?

Oh and also does everyone get the Civic I got as a prize?

Everyone gets the same prize for every race. There is a list of prize cars and race events here. As for the cars, the Civic is a race car, so if you put a good tune on it (like this one or this one) you should be good for the next few races. The RM cars really only come in handy when you are in special events or really tough ones. My advice is to take the Civic.

You shouldn't need any performance upgrades to beat the early levels. Learn to race with the car in its stock form and only make minor performance upgrades if necessary. This way the game remains competitive. It's no fun destroying your competition on the first lap.

Even on the first races you must have a faster car than the AI field (or at least be able to drive the car you drive much faster) in order to catch the rabbit.

When beginning GT5 you will soon notice that if you want to be 1st in the races, the opponents leader always will outbreak of the main field and be way ahead. So, you have the choice between a competitive and fun race with the opponents fighting for 2nd position or go the boring way and catch the rabbit, leaving any competition and position fights behind. :indiff:
 
Don't bother with expensive power parts, the cheap tune up of Sports ECU, Racing Air Filter, Catalytic Converter: Sports and Sports Exhaust should give you enough edge over the opponents. A weight reduction stage 1 or engine tuning stage 1 is also relatively cheap.

If you need some suspension upgrades early on, get the fixed or height adjustable kits. For early races the stock transmission is fine. Drivetrain parts are your call. If you're really struggling in races, SS tyres or better will usually see you through fine.
 
Do the seasonals, you can earn many milion credit in no time.
Try the Toyota 86GT for the old seasonals at 400pp then maybe the time trial at 450pp.
I'm currently sharing the gt academy cars on PSN tur1smo2023 but these trials are a bit tricky.

Cheers for the feedback. I hit the seasonal events and earnt quite alot of money. I got over 200k on one race :)

Got myself a few nice/fast cars now. I guess I prefer the 4WD cars they seem to be alot easier to handle... Saying that I bought an NSX which I love the look of, but cant handle it atall realy... Must be because its a RWD. Why cant you put a turbo/supercharger on that one?

Been messing around in practice mainly doing time trials. Might hit online soon :)

Upgrade the tires and look into tuning the NSX so you can handle it.

I suppose you can't turbo or supercharge the NSX because then it'd be faster than the R34 GT-R - which is blasphemy in the book of Gran Turismo by Kazunori Yamauchi. :lol:

Back in november 2010, we had to watch our $ closely, since it took forever to get a million credit. Now, in 10-20 minutes, you get a million.

I think it took me almost a month, if not two, to buy the FGT. With the seasonals, don't be affraid to buy every single premium car with all the best parts. Money is so easy to get. If you're counting on money from normal A-Spec races... it may take you a long time to get everything.

Wouldn't mind getting my hands on an F1 car as I came from F1 2011, but daaaamn 10 million smackers, OUCH!

You know the f1 cars can only be used against other f1 cars (online and seasonal only)

I'm mainly into Japanese cars, but F1 is awesome!
 
Than try the FGT, cost half as much and can be used anywhere. Not nearly as fast, but still a great formula car.

I have 300,000 miles on my X2011.
Anyway, the Gran Turismo Formula Gran Turismo is always in the OCD, but its color changes everu two weeks. It can't be painted.
 
Saw that FGT when I started playing today, I had around 600k :(

I now have 6 million :) I'm rich! Been playing the seasonal events all afternoon. But I cant find the FGT now :(

I may just save for the F10 Ferrari.

Any better ideas for what I can do with my huge stash?
 
The FGT is in the Online Dealership every single time for 5million with zero miles.
