I use to be like you totally clueless, I suked big time would be giving up like crzy but I alwasy came back and now I can say its becoming second nature to me. for your 240sx I would recommend you to not do anything to it yet but put on sim tires and a lsd 2-way or full is good enough although full gives you more customization, heres what I my advice this is a good start , 240 sx just put sims full customization lsd, put the first two settings about equal a high number around 40-max i usually go for 50 or 52, then you put the last one the decel one low, around 20 this will make your drift speeds alot better and help the drift stay intact without it stopping, the spin out thing is really common even I still spin out, you just need to practice and get use to it, for me spining out was like hard so I thought it was the settings but its not you need to improve your control thats all, dont punch the gas during the drift cause that will make your car spin out like crzy just put enough so that it wont spin out and it wont kill the drift, certain cars require you to slowly apply the gas but thats really depending on your settings as well, just do mid toned gas as well as countersteering till the end of it, when you see the exit as in its in front of you punch the gas and be easy on the steering. It helps to have delphic reasons setup for control - he has it as left analog for steering and right for gas= ^ and brake = down. Hope this helps you, just remember you dont really need crazy settings just need a lsd and tires, after that its practice and when you master it then you can add more stuff to challenge or match your style of drifting.
