I just uploaded my video review of the CSR Elite with some delay. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks once again to everyone who voted for me in the community testing poll!

Sorry for that, I thought I made it public. Because I was logged into Youtube, I could see it everywhere, even embedded :/ It's fixed now.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!

I've been eagerly waiting for your review. I knew it would be well put together, but the review itself is in a league of it's own; much better than the reviews typically done by "professionals" like Inside Sim Racing.

I'm surprised you didn't quantify the FFB with the benchmark you posted in the description. I think that's one of the best parts of your analysis.

Great review! Thanks for covering all aspects of the wheel and being honest and professional about it. I will be keeping an eye on Fanatec's products for sure, because if the CSW turns out to be as solid as the Elite, I would consider selling my T500 to my friend.

One flaw about your setup... there's flex in your stand! That's something of huge importance to me, if it's mounted 100% solid, it makes a huge difference in feel.

Again, amazing review and it couldn't have been any more professional. 👍

+1 So glad I voted for you to be a community tester

Good job dude. I agree with one of the above statements. When discussing the FFB consider creating a hyperlink in an annotation to your site directly in the video. It would be a nice addition for the people really looking to nitpick at the FFB effects.

Thank you for the comments!

I am thinking that I should talked more about that, but I noticed this video was getting very long and was afraid it would get too boring. I am still planning to write about it a bit more, when I'll have time and maybe compare different firmwares by their benchmark results.

That wheel stand has been through a lot, that's why. I actually only used it for showing the CSR-E and usually drive with a cockpit or the table clamp. But the weight of this wheel makes the wheel stand look a bit worse than it does with lighter wheels. Surprisingly, it is less likely to fall over when no pedals are put on the stand, because most of the weight of the CSR-E is in the base and not in the rim like it is with Porsche wheels.

Thanks for the suggestion. I wanted to do that, but Youtube only allows you to link within Youtube in video annotations :(

Nice review Sonac. Im still curious as to what extent is the wheel considered to have too much flex. If you watch my vids, you might guess that i drift somewhat hard fighting with FFB torque and such. i never came to the point that the wheel flexes though. I noticed Troysloth had it seriously flexed, but i would say that takes some serious and unnecessary pull strength, though he said it didnt. were you able to flex the rim as much as he did? because i wouldnt dare try that on mine, nor do i find the need to lol

Thank you.
No, I was not able to flex it nowhere near as much, but I can feel and see it flexes slightly, when I deliberately push/pull it on the top.
I really don't notice it while racing, so this flex does not prevent me from recommending the elite, because other than that it is nothing short of phenomenal. But the rim does bend a bit and I expected rim of a 500$ wheel not to bend at all.

As community testers, we were given the option to keep it for half the price and I am keeping it.

Great, I was waiting for your review.
Will watch it soon I'm at home from work.

This wheel flex issues seems to be a quality issue in assembly I think, not necessarily the material. I can flex my wheel by pushing on it with any one of my fingers. I can apply pressure with a bent pinky finger and it will flex, I also do notice it in game.

I made the flex video which has now become somewhat famous. I made that video on the first day I got the wheel right after I mounted it to my Rennsport wheelstand. I just couldn't believe a $540 wheel would flex like that. I assure you I wasn't putting that much pressure on it. After I made the video I checked the screws on the back of the wheel rim. All of them I was able to tighten at least a 1/8th turn and some up to 1/4 turn. Now the wheel doesn't flex as much and I don't notice it at all while racing.

I am extremely happy with my purchase and I would recommend the CSR Elite wheel to anyone. I just hope Thomas makes new rims soon that match the quality of the base.

Just watched the video.
I can just say, another great review.
Thank you, can't wait to get my CSR-E ;)

Bravo, sonac.

I'm amazed at the great job you did and the amount of technical detail you provided. And yeah, your presentation is WAY better than ISR.

A shame you aren't getting as much praise as you should be. This is the standard everyone else doing video reviews for the community should try to achieve. Great production values, information, and colorful language that describes something you can only feel and touch for yourself through words. Finally someone that gets it, I've been waiting for a review like yours since the wheel's release and thank you for making it. I don't know if you're planning on doing a CSW review, but if you do I'll be first in line to watch it.

Sonac proves why he was the overwhelming winner on the community poll here for sure. Great job
