occasionalracerGreat review! Thanks for covering all aspects of the wheel and being honest and professional about it.
Again, amazing review and it couldn't have been any more professional. 👍
I am thinking that I should talked more about that, but I noticed this video was getting very long and was afraid it would get too boring. I am still planning to write about it a bit more, when I'll have time and maybe compare different firmwares by their benchmark results.I'm surprised you didn't quantify the FFB with the benchmark you posted in the description. I think that's one of the best parts of your analysis.
That wheel stand has been through a lot, that's why. I actually only used it for showing the CSR-E and usually drive with a cockpit or the table clamp. But the weight of this wheel makes the wheel stand look a bit worse than it does with lighter wheels. Surprisingly, it is less likely to fall over when no pedals are put on the stand, because most of the weight of the CSR-E is in the base and not in the rim like it is with Porsche wheels. One flaw about your setup... there's flex in your stand! That's something of huge importance to me, if it's mounted 100% solid, it makes a huge difference in feel.
Thanks for the suggestion. I wanted to do that, but Youtube only allows you to link within Youtube in video annotationsGood job dude. I agree with one of the above statements. When discussing the FFB consider creating a hyperlink in an annotation to your site directly in the video. It would be a nice addition for the people really looking to nitpick at the FFB effects.
Nice review Sonac. Im still curious as to what extent is the wheel considered to have too much flex. If you watch my vids, you might guess that i drift somewhat hard fighting with FFB torque and such. i never came to the point that the wheel flexes though. I noticed Troysloth had it seriously flexed, but i would say that takes some serious and unnecessary pull strength, though he said it didnt. were you able to flex the rim as much as he did? because i wouldnt dare try that on mine, nor do i find the need to lol
This wheel flex issues seems to be a quality issue in assembly I think, not necessarily the material. I can flex my wheel by pushing on it with any one of my fingers. I can apply pressure with a bent pinky finger and it will flex, I also do notice it in game.
