I remember playing the last FS before the current one. Did a trip from Hawaii to LA to Miami, then back to Dallas. Man, that game was surprisingly fun.

I generally get 25-50 frames on my Cored 2 duo system. I'll be getting a better rig in a few months when I've got the time to build it.

It really is better stock out of the box compared to stock fs9. It cripples fs9 like there's no tomorrow. I can suggest a good flightsim community if you want.


I've got the PMDG for Fs9, 737 model. There's a really nice payware dornier for FSX out by the same company that made it for Fs9. Really fun little thing from the looks of it. Still need to buy it though.

I have done a 120hours of FSX already just using stock everything, but when I wanted to add mods that I use in fs9 (PMDG 747X, FS2crew, RC4, Active sky etc etc) the my system (P4 3.4, X800XT) just can't handle it so I am holding off for my new system.

I frequent Avsim (and sometime browse a few others), but havent lately while waiting for my upcoming FSX rig, also looking forward to the PMDG MD11.

What flightsim community you go to?

BTW I don't mind payware, I always get good use out of them.

I'm not sure if the name Tim Fuchs comes to you attention? He's the guy who worked with hifi sim to create the X series? Active sky X and X graphics. He's developing a new product with the Flight environment guys. You can catch the major thread here

The new PMDG for FSX is really nice too. I go to the flight community there in that link. Have been for the past 4 years, well before March 23rd it was known as fs2004.com

I recommend joining that place for sim needs. It's one of the most if not the most popular site for fs related stuff. If you look deeper into that thread, you'll notice more work coming about.

Not sure yet, when I finish paying off other things, I will get some money together. Then I will figure out whats around and whats upcoming in hardware.

New cars from Nvidia should be out in mid Jan i think. ATM the best bang for ya buck is the 8800GT 512mb.

I wouldn't get a system now anyway even if I had the money, from what I previously read about these new top end Nvidia cards sound very impressive.
