Just wondering, is it worth it to buy a vga converter to play PS2 on 21 inc monitor

Been browsing PS2 sites, and i came across 2 PS2 to PC monitor converters, but they are 50 bucks or so.

I mainly play Gran Turismo (duh), and was wondering if anyone uses a converter and if its worth buying, and if it improves the graphics a bit on a monitor (lotsa shimmering and such on my tv)

I played GT3 and GTP on a LCD (pc) monitor with DVI, VGA, S-video and CVBS compatibility.
It does not improve the graphics and a PC monitor with a converter is even worse. If you want the best graphics, use a television set.
