Kart settings for TT, what is yours?

i and a few other members have asked in the other thread and got no reply, so im creating a thread to ask. in this latest TT event are you guys editing your transmission? if so what settings? do you change 1st and final gears too?

would appreciate some input if possible. currently done a time of 33.5 with DS3 which i know can be beaten by myself. so guys what are your setups for the kart?
 
Of course you change your transmission. You're losing out on free lap time if you don't. But I'm not gonna post my number for you, it's pretty easy to figure out. Top speed on the longest straight, use the on-screen instruments to get a good idea of what top speed you're getting and change your transmission so that you reach top speed right before you brake on the longest straight.

Ballast - I accidentally had 3kg onboard when I first started (was testing last week), when I found it, I took it out, and went quicker instantly. I don't think it helps but I've constantly tried it with karts, to get a different balance. Standard 0kg balance seems fine to me.

Other than that, just watch the replays of the top 10. I watched a replay of No.10, because I felt it was more attainable.
 
yes i know as i have mine changed to the right speed i think. but i wanted to know if anyone changed their 1st and final gear settings.

and also how are the others using MT and not AT? the kart dont have gears.
 
Ah okay, I misunderstood :)

I'm not sure if I have it 100% correct but I did shorten my final gear a bit as well.

Don't know about the second question sorry. Sounds weird.

@igofast could you explain how he is cheating. I have been bashing my head again my steering wheel for a day and a half now trying to figure out how he is making some of those turns at that speed without spinning.
 
No idea man. Never seen anything like it before. My guess is he's running some software allowing him to have more grip. Not sure how, but VERY sure he's doing something dirty. There's no way you can do even close to a 31 sec lap without taking a near perfect line, I would know.

I easily reach 34 seconds.
Just not hit throttle when steering at the same time.

What's your point? He's still cheating. Trust me on this one.
 
There is a huge difference between 34 secs and the 31's that he is running. I have messed with the ballast for hours and hours and I am actually a good driver but I cant touch a 31. I have run his same line over and over and he accelerates with grip while I am spinning. That is what makes me question. And I don't ever question cheating lightly. I always know there are better drivers than I but.....
 
did about 30 laps, currently on a 33.3
my kart is 22hp, tranny set to max speed 71 mph.
I hear some people are getting 24hp, thats nearly 10% more power :O

Why do you think he is cheating? Maybe he has ran in his engine really well :?

EDIT: Ooh, I see
UPDATE: No Idea, how he did it. I suspect he has glitched Racing Tires onto his Kart. If he is indeed glitching. I have yet to watch the replay myself though

Collision detection is messed up again, maybe that's how?

Watched his replay, looks nice but still I can't believe he's 0.4 off 2nd...and the TT is so close otherwise...
Maybe he's an alien? Who knows, but 0.4 in karts is HUGE gap (WRS Week 42 for more about kart TTs).

If you want you can try this :


Put 10 ballast in pos 47
Set top speed at 68 mph , set 1st gear at 1.485 and final at 4.300.

I don´t know if this works for the new PDI kart , since I have the old one.

great so we have another glitcher on this TT then? ove managed a 33.4 so far

Had a low 32.8xx red lapped before the lap :yuck:
Had a look at Vega_Rider's lap, and I just can't see how he is doing it, He has a slow first section, doesnt use all of the road and is just super quick, he just tears away. Its crazy,
Im guessing there is some ridiculous glitch that allows him to use the kart with it's old hp.
I believe it had 33hp before the DLC arrived? (Maybe he has had his playstation signed in since then ;) haha)
 
I think you figured it out, and I wouldn't be surprised to find it takes no more than using saved game data from before the new carts came. I noticed Vega seemed to have enough power to smoke the tires thru corners, having 33 hp would explain it. He got enough power to drive point and shoot instead of running a whole track line...
I might have a backup old enough...I'll give it a go this evening, last I checked I was just under 1200 rank, so if you see me on the first page you know it worked :D
Edit: Just remembered a backup to my PC...yep its from February so it for sure has the old carts :D

I know right!
The differance between Vega's and the #2 replay is immense,
Vega's lap while not terrible, is not clean either. He is getting 60mph around that long left hander, while im getting 54mph.

Edit: I tried using an old backup, and putting my save on my old ps3 and buying another kart.

Both, let me get a 33hp pdi racing kart into 2.01. But when I go to bring the kart into the event it resets to 22hp.
