Damn you PD!! Damn you!!

It is -15C at the end of February and I KNOW this is YOUR DOING! First you FORCED ME to buy GT6..TRICKED ME EVEN...and now you make it so I must play it because I cannot go outside!!

I come here everyday to complain about how terrible this game is after playing it for several hours. I AM SO BORED of playing this game over and over again!

Last night, I developed cataracts from staring at the terrible textures of the standard cars and my ears began to bleed from the terrible sounds. I don't mind the cataracts that much because the game was so dark I couldn't see it anyway...Nor do I want to because of all the terrible standard models.

Now, I don't know what it sounds like from the inside of a Pagani Zonda R, but whatever it sounds like must be better than what you made!!

What will you do to force me to buy GT7?? Will you MAKE me buy a crappy PS4, that is just a PS3 in a new box!! Without Bluray!?!?!?! How am I supposed to watch Netflix without Bluray!?!

....and get rid of this damned polar vortex and let me go outside so I don't have to play this awful game anymore.

On a more serious note. One thing we can blame on Kaz is the inability to get a licence agreement with Porsche. Porsche licensed cars to four different franchises over and above their deal with EA in the last 14 years. Kaz and the GT franchise however were turned down.

EA had an agreement with Microsoft to sub licence the marque in Forza 1-3. Soooo, Kaz was left out of that type of deal as well.

After EA's refusal to sub licence to Turn 10 for Forza 4, finally, the opportunity to have Porsche cars in video games seems to be all up to EA. So the window has closed unless EA changes their mind or are offered a compelling deal to again sub license it.

My point is, perhaps Kaz or his chosen delegate, did not make a good impression with Porsche and EA and it is because of that he was turned down and subsequently could not arrange a deal. It is his fault Porsche's are not in the game. Now the polar vortex IMO is another matter.

Ouch.

Ya, I miss Porsche big time. I use the RUF cars a lot and would use Porsche more if given the ability.

That said, we don't know the specifics of agreement but I highly doubt that it's solely on Sony's end. I'm thinking EA wants a hefty fee and previous agreement might preclude allowing them to strike a deal with Sony.

Kind of like when a player becomes a free agent, but still can't play for certain teams.

Certainly a fair evaluation post 2011 when EA denied Turn 10 the sub-licence they had been enjoying for the entire Forza series, Forza 1-3. But Porsche had allowed 4 other franchises dating back to 1997 that had licenses or sub-license agreements, why did Kaz not achieve it for GT1 through GT4? Why would Sony be black-balled? Unlikely.

I know I don't have the specifics but by studying all the companies involved and the timelines, it is reasonable to think that either Kaz or the funds required back in 1992-1997 when GT1 was being developed were the reason why no deal was ever made.

That said, I find it amusing how he parades around like a video game deity, yet he failed to secure one of the most prestigious marques in automotive history for his groundbreaking game. 5 other publishers arranged deals to get Porsche products into their games. many of them were nowhere near as well developed as the GT games. Why then with the massive number of other licences acquired could Kaz not pull off a deal with Porsche or EA?

I think the answer could be as simple as EA would not offer a sub-license, which does not make much sense since they worked with Microsoft.

Or the answer is Porsche would not offer it to Kaz or PD, and awarded the agreement or had already awarded it to EA for their Porsche games on the PS1. Likely, I would need to look at the timeline of development for EA's titles.

Or the answer is PD and Sony would not pay the fee asked for the license. Likely, but quite simply a massive fail as they had access but would not pony up for such an important marque.

Or and finally the most plausible, Kaz left a poor impression with Porsche or EA when he proposed his project and he just wasn't able to rectify a failed business opportunity.

Kaz could clear this up and maybe he does in his Biography. IMO this is one of the biggest failures for this franchise and I don't accept the simple cop-out excuse about EA.

I too use the Ruf cars but as someone who has written about, photographed and studied Porsche and their automobiles, it is deeply saddening to not see them in arguably the premier racing title for a number of years on the PlayStation console.

There is something odd happening for sure, because they have the rest of VW in the game (save for Skoda?)
