Yes yes, ANOTHER Ken Block video (I can hear the people going MAKE IT STOP! already :p) but this one actually shows him using his skills properly and not failing like his previous adventure with the Escort, and it's been a nice break from KB vids in this section so let's bring him back for an encore.

Have fun with this one, all the details are in the first 10 seconds and last 15 seconds of the video, the rest is him driving in his usual manic fashion.

Enjoy. 👍

Mmmmh... :indiff:

I like watching his Gymkhana practice vids … but … is it just me or is he not going all out here? This is supposed to be a record stage time?!
:odd:

Sometimes rally inboard vids look so much faster than that. Of course there's different track surfaces, track layouts, rallye cars etc., but still …

Don't want to sound rude here, though. Who knows more about this race series? Against whom is he competing?

Driving balls out on a road you've never been down before isn't exactly the most comfortable thing to do. Scary as hell, in fact, even when you're normally a great driver. Yes, he's going all out the best he knows how, or else he'd probably be sitting at the starting line going "this is crazy".

Block races in the Rally America series, which is a lesser stage than WRC, and less fancy. Some of the big American names he competes against are Travis Pastrana and Tanner Foust, among many others.

Umm … it says at the end that he bettered his own time by 9 seconds. And the co-driver is reading pacenotes (that must have been written down somehow – normally by driving down the same road at slow speed).

So I assume he's been down that road several times before.

In the gravel he was being conservative by the sounds of the car but when he hit the last part in the tarmac he was pretty much flat out. So I would assum that the car was more setup for tarmac rather than gravel or dirt hence the reason why he was not flat out the whole time. Overhaul he did a nice clean run. We don't need to see him all out "Gymkhana" style and end up in an epic crash. We want to see him finish and see were he stands and 2nd place is good. 👍👍👍👍👍

Is that a french co driver(navigator)?

Could be french canadian?

I think part of the "Slowness" is the fact that these cars are Group N, rather than the all-out WRC cars. They're inherently not as fast.

I was thinking similar after watching the last round of the WRC on the iPlayer, everything that wasn't a full WRC car looked really slow in comparison, and there was even a same year Subaru group N in the bunch as the one KB is driving here.

Oh! Group N that makes more sense. I guess he knew he didn't have a chance against the big boys. haha!

Group N is the top class in America. WRC cars either aren't allowed, or nobody uses them because they're too expensive to buy and ship over.

Check the flag on the side of the window. Italy?

I've seen these Group N cars running in person, and they are a bit faster than the video lets on. There were a couple places in the above video that you could tell he was moving along pretty good.
