Keep dropping online games :O

The loading will either get half way, i hear mic's, then drop, or it will get all the way and 10-15 seconds into game, drop.

also when i make a game its fine until about 5 people come in, but i just figured thats straining my interwebs lol.

any advice as to what this might be?

help ;(
 
It might not be your connection - it could be the hosts. I had the same problem staying connected while Famine was hosting but after it changed to someone else, there were no issues.

Try connecting with someone else and see if the problem persists. If it does, the issue is likely on your end.
 
I had to buy a 10 meter cable as with wireless the game was unplayable. Even with wire i had to plug the PS3 on the 1:st port and computer on the 2:nd or i would get random disconnects. working fine now...
 
if you can set up a static ip on your playstation, do it. there is alot of info on the subject at www.portforward.com

setting it up in a dmz through your router would also be a good idea.

Try not being wireless :)

I was getting disconnected from almost every game after some random amount of time. Sometimes just when joining.

Sometimes during the countdown.

I have now changed to wired. I run wireless to my macbook, then bridge the connection via UTP to the ps3.

The signal to my laptop works great, the signal to the ps3 was causing trouble. All the tests indicated that the ps3 was working correctly and had a strong signal. However, I have not been disconnected once since changing to wired connection.
