Keep getting black screen and freeze during Skyline time trial

Everytime I run this time trial, my ps3 goes to a black screen and freezes when I try to navigate through the menu after running my laps. I have to quit the game, which sends my ps3 into the "improper shutdown" mode. I will restart the time trial, only to have the same thing happen again. Anyone else experience this? Starting to get fed up with this game...missing content, bugs, lousy car sound, lack of feedback from developer, no feature to restore a tune back to default... ah forget it.
 
Okay, I didn't read far enough into the actual thread for the event to realize that I should have put my problem there. Sorry.
