Hey guys,

Over the past few hours, I've noticed that my internet browser keeps getting re-directed. Whenever I go into Google and search for something, I tend to get yanked off in a direction I have no desire to go and I have no idea what it causing it. I haven't ventured outside my usual spehere of websites except to do a few assignments, and I suspect I've picked something up along the way. I've tried clearing my cookies and deleting my history and went over the system with both an anti-virus program and an anti-malware one. However, it hasn't made an iota of difference - I'm still getting re-directed, if not as frequently.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like some form of Homepage hi-jacker... weird... If youve checked with different programs I dont know what else it could be... Hope you figure it out soon... 👍

Have you tried a different browser? That could help, if it still does it I am not sure what it is especially considering you have done scans. There could still be something in your computer but I dont think its the case, just try another browser and tell us what happens.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Stop using Internet Explorer and download yourself some Opera/Firefox/Chrome?

Sounds like a homepage hijacker, and if resetting your browser doesn't fix it, it's likely rooted itself in your registry and has dug in really tight. If I recall properly, there's a registry line for IE that sets the homepage.

Well, I downloaded Firefox, but I can't get onto it. I know what it is - it's the university's network settings. It'll have to wait until tomorrow to get set up. In the meantime, I'll see what I can do with the hijackings. They seem to have reduced since I ran Malwarebytes and wiped my cookies. Maybe that tore it out without my spotting it. I haven't been using the internet much since I posted that first message.
