Keeping car after trading?

Hey..I was playing online with my audi r10 and someone sent me a message saying can I dupe one for him...I told him I didn't have a USB stick so he told me it is possible to send a car and then turn off your ps3/eject gt5 disc right after you press 'ok' to send..is this true? I would try my self but my daily limit has been reached...thanks
 
Most likely you will get a corrupted file and lose your whole saved game and have to start from level 0 with 20k lol.

You can also use your phone if you have a USB plug to charge it.

I figure I carry everything else in my life on my phone, why not a back up save of GT5?
 
Sounds like a recipe for loosing your data. It tries to save right after gifting a vehicle so you would have to do it at almost the exact time. You'd never get it right and it's bound to have already started writing to the file as you turn off.

I wouldn't be surprised it if corrupted other files too. Certainly not worth the risk.

You must be the only person on the planet without a USB stick. What's wrong with you?

Because I don't want to use a usb stick??..thats whats wrong with me and I use another ps3 account to back up my data instead...

I was under the impression game saves weren't able to be put onto accounts that aren't the original?

Nah its possible...just go to a game save and press triangle and copy to any other account...

They HAVE to be tied to main account, but you can have like 6 sub accounts
 
Less fail, go buy a usb stick for 5 bucks... You need one anyways in case your hard drive goes boom that way you have saves backed up. Tell that guy you met online that he's an idiot and doesn't know what he's talking about.
