Keyboard randomly stops.

I'm having a small problem with my keyboard. When typing it just stops every few seconds. The page freezes a bit (red close button goes grey for a sec and the page freezes for a second) and the keyboard stops typing. When I'm in file explorer it also does this and then if I go to type again, unless I press an arrow key, it deletes the text as it highlights it. Anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?
