No-one knows. It could be to do with Japan/Korea relations, which isn't the best, to say the least.

This is could be one of the main reasons but again, there's the Hyundai which's in GT since Gran Turismo 4, that's more than 10 years.

That wouldn't explain parent company Hyundai's involvement, though.

I'd like to see Kia brought in. Probably not with the Telluride – though for some reason, I find myself drawn to the design – but with things like the Proceed GT, Forte Koup, and Soul.
