Kia Touring Car Series. Interest thread.

So the Kia Optima race car is released for S2 and it seems like a good opportunity to have a touring car style series going here. There's also been talk of members here wanting an organised series through gtplanet.

Looking at a UK centered series with tracks dotted in from other countries, either and 8 or 12 week/round season.

Possible tracks:
Brands Hatch Indy
Oulton Park Island
Silverstone National
New Hampshire/Phoenix infield
Brands Hatch GP
Silverstone GP
Oulton Park GP
Suzuka East
Zolder
Lime Rock Park
Mid-Ohio Short
Zandvoort Club

Series would commence on or after 3rd of May with a race day to be decided by the drivers involved. Hopefully will be a weekly series.

So sign up your names here! I'll keep a list in the first post of who is interested and hopefully we can get this going with enough racers.

You could always use the rockingham infield track? I'm pretty sure its a different rockingham but still, its got the same name lol.
 
Heh could do, looks a bit simple though, was looking at New Hampshire or Phoenix as possibilities.
 
Why not run Silverstone National and Oulton Park Island to properly replicate the BTCC? Especially as they barely get used in iRacing (both are barely used altogether to be fair!).

I'm up for this but not sure I can be a regular. I'll try to make as many as I can and I'm going to be running the KIA this season anyway. 👍

I'll change the track listing to a preliminary idea list before confirming, based on input.
 
I'd be up for this depending on what evening it is run. Was planning on running the Kia as my main car this season anyway.

Evening is still undecided yet. Once we get enough interest we will see what everyone can do.
 
I'd be up for it as long as it's at reasonable times. i.e. all racing finished by 9pm (unless it's a Saturday night in which case it could be later) I have to get up for work at 5.30 so cannot stay up late.

I'd be up for it but like Clark as long as it is at a reasonable time. I work and go to college on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so I have to get up quite early so if the racing is done before 9pm (Can be later on Friday evening and Saturday evening as I'm off work and college those days) then you can count me in.
 
Excellent. I'm in a similar situation work wise although I don't work till 10am so not early but Saturday evenings are certainly a good option looking at it so far.
 
Could i join later on? Im thinking I might buy the kia if im not getting on in the Grand-Am
 
This tickles my fancy. I'm interested in this, despite the car being a pig :-)
 
I will be running a practice session for the Kia around Oulton Park Island.

Room will open Sunday 28th April, 20:00 (8PM) GMT. Room will be a public and will run for 2 hours.

Hope to see people there. If I don't respond to text or voice I'll probably be getting coffee :)

Look out for Wayne Stroh in the hosted sessions. Name of the room will probably be thread name as I am incredibly lazy at 6am lol.
 
I probably won't be able to join in. I did a few laps in the kia yesterday, it's fun but it definitely takes time to get used to.
 
You racing that too? You in a team yet? Looking for a team mate to race with for the teams championship.
