hey ppl...i need avideo editor...one that is cheap or free...powerdirector and windows movie maker just isn't workin out...so any help would be appreciated

I use Windows Movie Maker, it's on every XP system and it's free!

I capture my video, edit it with WMM, convert it to a Type 2 AVI, and compress it with VirtualDub.
 
Viper Zero, which program do you use to convert your videos?
WMM doesn't do that, does it?
 
No it doesn't. He probably uses some software that came with his camera. His camera is probably connected to his computer through a special ilink connection or something as well.
 
WMM converts to Type I AVI, but not Type II.

I have a video capture card, not a video camera.
 
I know you have a card, but what I meant was that you probably had a video camera that would hook up to that card. You must have a capture card and you can hook other video devices up to it.
 
Not necessarily, many digital video cameras (I know Sony can) can send it through firewire as well.
