Koenigsegg has launched its new Trevita, a 1004bhp supercar based on the CCXR.

Only three examples of the exclusive supercar will be made by the Swedish firm. The name Trevita translates from Swedish into three whites.

It uses a bio-fuel engine, which can produce 782lb ft of torque as well as its 1004bhp.

Its skin is made from a unique new material produced in-house by the Koenigsegg engineers. The body panels are carbonfibre, which are then coated in a diamond finish to give the car a sparkling effect. The firm calls it the Koenigsegg Shimmering Diamond Weave.

Other exclusive features include a double carbon wing, paddle-shift ‘box, a new sports exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, a hydraulic lifting system and a chrono instrument cluster.

No prices have been announced by Koenigsegg.

The wheels with the black trim and color scheme just look great on the car. The third picture down just looks amazing I think.

Koenigsegg is going to eventually hit a point where they need to design something new, like Pagani has started doing. They don't sell cars like Porsche can, & there's not a whole lot more that can be done to this design that hasn't already been done.

Based on the CCXR? It is a CCXR with Trevita on the end. I have no doubt it'll go like stink, but c'mon Christian. You've been playing with this design for 11 years now. It's time to let it go & bring something fiercer out of the factory.

With them having just unloaded a bunch of cash on Saab, I'm guessing we'll have to remain bored with the current 240 mph, super exclusive supercar for a few more years. Lame. :indiff:

Fiercer?! I don't think anyone would be able to properly handle the 1004hp monster, except Shuey and the Stig. Power to only two wheels and based on a the chassis that is known to be amazingly sharp but tetchy would make this car SUCH a handfull to drive on the edge.

But I agree with the new product thing, but I'd say toning it down and aiming, like McLaren, for Ferrari and Porsche.

Cool car, but.

Damn... beautiful finish on the carbon skin.

I actually like it. Sure... the CCX, like the Zonda, hasn't changed much over the years... but for these two cars... there are so few of them, anyway... and their performance envelope still puts them way out there... that it really doesn't matter that much.

Hell... I wish Porsche had continued producing the Carrera GT for a few years more... :(
