Koenigseggs first lap at the Nürburgring.

Koenigsegg had an outing at the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring for the first time the other week.

Without any prior setup or adjustment the Koenigsegg CCR managed to lap the ring in 7.39 Seconds.

This lap time show tremendous potential and is already class leading. The Koenigsegg Team will be back on the Ring within short for further trials.

The Koenigsegg CCR features customer adjustable, shock absorbers, wheel geometries, anti roll bars, ride-height and tire pressure. These adjustable features will be now be utilized, and an customer official "Ring" setting will be created. Hopefully, theses settings will help the CCR to become the first road legal, series-produced Super car under 7.30 Seconds.

Words from the founder:

-Last weeks laps around the Ring show that the Koenigsegg CCR is not only a world beater in a straight line, but also around the most challenging circuit in the world. I cannot wait to have another go.

More info will follow on this exciting challenge....

Thanks to Mustang@UCP.
EDIT: I know it says seconds, but its minutes. Typo on their part.

Yay! I've always loved that car, ever since I first saw it. That guy knows how to pull some cool tricks. 👍

That's pretty close to the Carerra GT's 7'32 lap, although I'd wager the Enzo or the MC12, both already available, are fully capable of laps under 7'30.

Sweet. It amazes me how it has taken so long for Koniggseg to get so many of these things sorted.

Most companies make things like setting speed records and lapping the 'ring' quite high priority.

When can we expect a C6 Z06? It might settle a few arguments.

With 806hp on tap, this really isn't a surprise to me.

Yeah, it would make mince meat of the straights, pulling F1 performance. But I bet it was hurting in the corners. It seems a bit clumsy. I still find it the most attractive super car available in the past ten years or currently in design.

Is the Koenigsegg AWD?
If it is, or even if it's MR, I'm sure that would help through the twisty.

And also its relatively low weight.

More of a Carerra GT person myself, but I agree that the CC8S is far better looking than the comparable Enzo.

The CCR's front is gorgeous, imo, and mean looking.

According to TopGear, he said it was a very unforgiving car which I can believe with that much horsepower.

I love the Koenigsegg, it's just raw beat-ness on wheels, I like cars like that. Thats why I'm such a big TVR fan. I'd soooooo love to see the Speed 12 at the Ring, I'd be thinking of times closer to the Radical's.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

The supercars sure have been proven why they are supercars compared to other cars out there! :O I don't care if you can get a car to beat it ONLY in a straight line, but this supercar is one of those that will perform where it really counts: THE RACETRACK!!! :O 👍

I personally have never thought about supercars going into HP range more than 700 and can STILL perform incredible! :O This is one of those cars that prove it! :O GO SUPERCARS!!! :O

The Koenigsegg is a beautiful car... but IMO it's not a million miles from a Honda NSX (or the new HSC that was in GT4 Prologue... )

The HSC is prettier, but the Koenigsegg is more....... Intimidating in appearence. I saw them both at last years NEC motorshow.

No F'ing way can the 12 keep up with the radical.. Too effing big and heavy !...

Really, it's faster than the GT1 racers you saw at LeMans this year, it has as much downforce, more power and weighs less, it has 880Bhp limited by the cams but it can run at 960Bhp with the alternate cam's fitted and it weights 980kg's. Yes F'ing way it can keep up with the radical. It's big but so are some of the GT1 racers that you wouldn't argue, could lap the ring fast enough.

They still have to take it to Utah on the flats and see what it's very top speed was. I don't think it went all the way on Nardo.

Feh, all this "It lapped the 'ring in....." talk is making me fed up with the Nordschleife. It's a grand old course, but I've always felt that it's too much a question of high speed grip and not enough a question of braking and agility.

I say it's time to talk the Sicilian government into letting us run Little Madonie again. Now there's a challenge of a car's ability! :dopey:

Go Koenigsegg!

**** Honda HSC, most ugly car they've ever made. They should better stick with the NSX now Nissan, Mitsubishi and Toyota will launch their new (super)car next year.
