Well I think its a cover up lol , I thiknk BMW is just testing Kubica and if he has what it takes , I really would like to see him race he has been amazing in practice , but its a bad race to be put in with BMW at its low now .... we'll see what happens this weekend

Finally. I told you Kubica would get a seat. They probably want him to be in the seat because Hungary doesn't allow for much passing, and he should qualify well. If there is a race to put Kubica in, this is it.

hopfully he will continue to the end , I quote "However, we have not yet made a decision on who will drive the car either in the remaining races of the season or next year,” he said."

so there is a chance , he knows the car well , who is goinng to be their third driver though if he is going to race ? can he use the 3rd car in practice and then continue the weekend in the race car ?

This should at least make the Hungary GP somewhat exciting.

Also, Fabrizio del Monte will be Midland's test driver for this race. He was suppose to do San Marino, but his sponsors didn't pay up.

The all sounds very fishy to me. He showed no signs of being injured after the accident. Looking at the Grand Prix preview on his website, it seems as if he didn’t actually want to race this weekend.

Jacques has warned his fans not to expect too much from him at this weekend's Hungarian GP, because of the six circuits still be raced at this season, the Hungaroring is the one where he most expects BMW-Sauber to struggle.

In his very first season in Formula One, Jacques claimed the Hungarian Grand Prix victory ahead of his then Williams team-mate Damon Hill, and repeated the feat the following season, again beating Hill.

The next year, 1998, JV again scored points in Budapest when he finished the race in third place, however, that was the last time he was to finish in the points and this year he's concerned could prove to be yet another point-less trip to Hungary.

"I'm not sure how competitive we will be. This is the one track we have got left to go to this season that is a bit of a worry for me."

"It is always a very physical and long race, and it is exhausting."

But aside from the physical aspect, Jacques also feels the Hungarian Grand Prix is one of the boring races on the calendar.

"They have not made much of a change to the circuit and it has not made it any more interesting to drive," he concluded.
The fact that Mario Theissen said that they “have not made a decision on who will drive the car either in the remaining races of the season or next year” really has me kinda concerned. It sounds like JV is demotivated or the team do not want to continue the partnership. :indiff:

No, he cannot.

so whos going to drive the 3rd car? I think its been important for them this season having a third car do the testing

man.....i really like Jacques. i think he deserves to be in a better team and car so he can really show his potential

Why?

He already won a championship by driving the equivilent of today's renault against a field full of red bulls.

All of a sudden JV's NASCAR talk seems a lot more believable...

Maybe that talk i what got him into this situation , he does seem a bit demotivated (right word??)

Possible...he has slumped from his recent perky attitude and performances. Shame that, do like JV, can be a character at times too. But I guess old heads have to step down a little for young guns to get their chances.

Yeah, well the BMW Sauber F1.06 is pretty useless on any circuit that requires downforce.

Interesting; Kubica's been quite fast and deserving of a drive. The Hungaroring isn't a great place for a beginner to make his debut, since it's a long race, and can be physically wearing on the driver.

If he has a good finish without an incident, he'll prove he deserves another race chance in the BMW-Sauber. He'll also be the first Polish driver in Grand Prix racing in post-WWII era.

Finaly we have Polish driver in F1 GP !! :)
Im from Poland, i wach F1 for over 12 years nopw and finaly i will wach my guy racing against MS or FA :)
I know that his car isnt the best but i hope that his abilities will allow him to get at least 5th or 6th position.
9th posistion on start so overtaking 2 or 3 drivers is possible...
Im keeping my fingers crossed for him :)
45min to go ;)

What a great race !!!

MS out FA out, Kubica out of track twice and 2 big come back's, Massa overtaken, 7th position, none laps on slick tyres.

Hmm i have seen Button in TopGear lately .. ;)

I think JV could kiss his driving seat goodbye , in those conditions and to get 7th was amazing ..... he his real potential

What's the only F1 GP Kubica ever attended as a spectator, at the age of 12?

The Hungarian GP... in 97, won by Villeneuve.

The irony.

Sad to seem to disqualified for over using his tires which means he was pushing as hell, I really hope BMW give him another shot , as those conditions are the worst some one could race and he did so well , and after the race he said and I quote "It was a good result , but my driving no , because I made some mistakes " ..........

I wonder if Kubica drove around the track off the line after finishing. Regardless, he did well for his first drive.

I have edited the thread title and removed Hungary , because I think after that race they might just ditch JV

Not bad for his first race and little experience in wet conditions

Kubica did a great job; an interesting race for his debut to GP racing.

For those keeping track, the last driver to make his debut and be disqualified was Adrian Campos in the 1987 Brazilian GP. Interestingly, he should have been disqualified twice, as he missed his weigh-in during practice (he was forgiven for a sum of money to the FIA), and then missed his chance to start on the grid...but instead of starting at the pit lane, he just decided to take his starting place on the grid....oops.

Now you can be absolutely certain that Mike Helton and company are on the horn to JV's people, especially if all those rumors about a NASCAR Busch race at Montreal next year are true...

I doubt BMW will have one - their only other team driver is Sebastian Vettel, and he's in F3 Euroseries at the moment, as well as being tied to Red Bull money.
