Apologize if this is a duplicate thread...


I feel like the 1.05 update fixed everything that I had against the game... and this is after my wife spent last night laughing at me for doing the Suzuka endurance race in the rain (Intermediate tires and stopping and I took awhile to get along...)


There's new events, I'm no longer limited to the endurance races for new challenges... There's an online car dealership that appears to fix the endless waiting for certain cars (I spent a week looking for the FGT and a day looking for those trucks)... There's leaderboards so I can now confirm that I'm the slowest driver the world has ever seen... You can now re-race without restarting/reloading which is great for when you just want to grind those left turns at Indy, and the inclusion of xp/credits for online racing (which I try and avoid because I hate knocking people off in the corners on accident!)... They even fixed the BGM function that was giving me problems



I know this probably sounds dumb and like a mini-rant but man I'm ecstatic to be playing... if I could only get more museum cards... :)

Now give us back machine testing and I will be a very happy chappy, but yeah 1.05 is a step in a great direction. 👍
 
Heck i was like level 23 or 24 before i even saw a truck on the used car lot lol, and took me two days of refreshing to find a FGT.

And for all the complaints about the backup thing i think it is lest worth it for the peace of mind that days weeks of your life will not be wiped out of your power goes out while saving, or your hd goes belly up or you ps3 just melts.

And the cash bonus is darn nice i actually feel more motivated to grind up and get the f07 or something.
 
It was nice to see so many things corrected with one update. I'm pleased to say the least.

It's a step in the right direction but there is nothing here that couldn't have been included in the game when it was released and there are still issues. I can't believe people are thanking PD for making the grinding a little easier :guilty:

I'm glad you're happy though :)

EDIT: and it is great to see them addressing issues. I don't mean to sound so negative lol

I'm also happy they fixed the map glitch in the rallying. Just finished the last snow and road, GT rallys and when you turn the map off it stays off. It's good to know they are fixing the little things too :)

What you're saying is that they had it ready but decided not to include it at launch? That makes no sense. Why not be happy that they released the game and that they continue to support it to make it as good as possible.

I think this is a very good patch. The copy protection removal is going to let me sleep well at night. This is the only thing that really should have been there from the start as it's mostly a decision.

The Seasonal Races, online rare car shop is great additions.

More like a giant leap. Never had a game that keeps getting better and better.
 
This ONE update is better than EVERY update NFS Shift got combined.
And that game was ****, to say the least.

I was ashamed to be a GT fan a few weeks ago, now PD is making me proud.

No, I'm saying they should not have released the game without these things (and others) in the first place. A fraction less time spend making the premium cars look perfect and a fraction more time spent everywhere else and many of the problems would not exist.

I am happy it was finally released but i'm unhappy that the game is still not finished after years of development. The previous games (not including GT5P obviously) were 99% great right from launch because PD didn't have the option of fixing things up after via patches. People are loving that PD can adjust negative aspects of the game via patches but are overlooking the fact that we should not have to put up with those negative parts in the first place.

They've spent too much time making it look pretty (years), not enough time on the common sense aspects of the game, have been forced to launch a seemingly untested, unfinished game for Christmas and will now finish the game in monthly instalments that people are thanking them for. This wasn't an issue before we had the ability to play online and download games/patches. I promise, online gaming will eventually kill Gran Turismo or change it so much that it's a Gran Turismo game in name only.

There are many things in GT5 that i'm very happy with (and a few more thanks to this patch) but that ^^^^ is what i'm unhappy about. I won't go any further 'cause it's not my thread and people have as much right to be happy about the game as I have to be angry about it.
 
It is a great patch no doubt, I loved the game before and love it even more now. It's nice to see them adding events especially.
