Lack of aftermarket wheels.

I don't know about anyone else but i'm really getting tired of having a selection of 4 or 5 different sets of wheels to choose from. If PD already got company's like BBS and SSR on with them, why didn't they add more wheels?

Why didn't they add the BBS CH? Or the LM? Some of the decisions in this game really boggle my mind. And theres not too many thing's that bother me with GT5, but this is one of them.

Hopefully they add more thru DLC or something, i really don't want to only have these wheels to choose from for the next 4 or 5 years.
 
There are minor changes in wheel selection from GT auto between cars, but no major changes.

Some wheels only appear on certain cars, some cars have maybe 15-20 wheels to chose from others have maybe 10.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as the selection on GT4.

But at least you can paint them, which is small consolation, but better than nothing.

I would love a rim system like GT4's. I miss putting steelies on cars.

Bringing the used rims back would be awesome. And i agree painting is a plus, but still. Only 5 or 6 different wheels to choose from on some cars? That's really not acceptable. Then ontop of that we can't change wheel's on standards. I really think this needs more attention, cause presentation and personalization is important to us.

Wheel/rim choice is usually a major add-on factor with any (most) car enthusiasts...
I really don't see how hard it could be to make the standard cars adaptable to this, but yes...I miss that option. :sick:
 
the reason they probably didn't add it on the standards is because the rims would be too good of modeling and would make the Standards look even worse.
Hell i've been starting up GT4 alot just to
A. Get wierd rims on cars
B. Save directly to USB from Photomode
C. Not have amazing detail then "Am i playing a PS2 game ?"
 
Even the selection for certain cars is questionable. For example, there's no option to put Volk CE28Ns or TE37s on an FD RX7, despite them being very popular in the real world, and even modelled in the game for other cars to use!

You can get BBS Mesh's on a Trans Cammer, a Z28 Camaro, 70's Challenger, But not on a 350Z RS.
 
Agreed on all counts. personalization of these cars is important to alot of us, and there are some cars where not being able to remove the stock ( or hub caps) is the only reason I don't really want to own it.

My favorite wheels are in the game. My favorite car is premium in the game. they are not compatible. boo.

PD failed!! Another bit of evidence if any where needed that they've gone backwards from GT4. Seems they only cared about the 200 premiums and good looking tracks. Standard cars, the paint system, changing wheels....all afterthoughts that were not implimented correctly. And I cant see it being patched.

I love the game, for the reason i've always loved GT (physics) but all other aspects of the game (bar the premiums and track appearance) are worse than shift!!!

I don't get that either, why we can have say, the BBS Rs's on one car and not on another? Or the some of the Volk's etc. As i said before, PD's thinking is just weird imo.
 
How about a selection of wheels for the older cars (specifically the American muscle cars) that actually make sense? Some good old Cragars, American Racing, Centerlines, etc.

Nothing against the newer Volks and so forth, but they just don't work on EVERY car.

GT5 details made me like muscles cars more than i would love to. Before i hated muscle cars, and now i find them so beautiful, especially older ones :-)

And one set of alloys this game needs, is definately some TSW Venoms.

Sheer class embodied in a wheel.
 
I put a set of the NASCAR wheels on an old Vette, and tried painting them (the wheels actually look ok). It worked, but the tire lettering and lug nuts stayed yellow. Yuk!

It was a long shot, but I was hoping the tire lettering and lugs would go to white or at least black. :)
 
It would have taken two minutes to copy the wheels from gt4 for atleast the standard cars if the wheel models werent upto scratch for the premiums.

IMO very very lazt decision not to allow changing the wheels on the standards
 
Some rs watanabe's would have been awesome. they had them in gt4 too.
 
The standard wheels were re modeled as in GT4 they were all 2D plus the wheels do look better on the standard cars then the actual cars.
 
Another symptom of the development team's complete lack of direction or co-ordination.
 
To add everything that the past GT's had and give what other people want would mean a whole other game would need to be realeased.

Yeah the system is very limited.
 
Unfortunately, the feedback system doesn't do it's job because there are 67 pages of individual suggestions and I highly doubt most users would actually go past the first page when choosing what to vote for, making it absolutely worthless. Maybe I ought to make a new thread about that.

Interesting note that wheel selection generally came from tunning cars present in game. Just look at tuners and you'll find out.
 
What i'd like to see is this...

Ok say you've changed the wheels on your lambo. You should now have a set of lambo wheels available to use on another car. Along with all the other sets of manufacturers wheels that have been changed. Ok in the real world it wouldn't work but this is a video game & i'd like to be able to put the wheels i took off my lambo on my fiat 500
