Lack of good threads out there...

Well, I haven't seen any really good threads in a while here. Has anyone else noticed this? is it just my mind playing tricks on me? Has the overall quality of the threads on GTP dropped to the point where a downright awesome thread simply cannot exist? What happened?
 
I agree. This site is getting extremely boring. I come on about once or maybe twice a week anymore and all I get is some lame threads about how to pick up highschool girls and what designer clothes are the best?

Two DGB posts; two DGB whines.

I'm guessing that if you were on Survivor, you would be one of those people complaining that the shelter everybody else (but you) just built was uncomfortable.
 
austin, the 'quitter' or 'pansy boy' on survivor is so frustrating to watch. i like rupert, he looks like a pirate. i'm glad pansy boy took the walk of shame off the island.
gt forums is cool, it covers all areas of interest. technical stuff, GT3, humour (my hat goes off to mike). then there are also crap random threads posted by who-knows-who trying to impress the general audience with obviously uneducated statements. these are a good read too, but a bit too much to bere. (much like austin)
all depends on your taste though, i like the general content of GT forums.

DGB: Read Kikkoman and learn - he has the right attitude. You obviously wont enjoy 100% of any forum, the more effort you put in, the more you get out.
 
This is stupid, complaining on a matter like this. Ever heard of contribution jpec?

This is just as stupid as complaining on "society". Nothing but a big projection of your own shortcomings.
 
The proportion of idiots on GTP has climbed exponentially in the last six months or so. Most of the new members are frighteningly boring and stupid. They start meaningless threads and ruin the good ones. I've started a few threads lately that I ended up just cancelling because they were flooded with irrelevant crap within half an hour. So starting what you might think is a good thread doesn't work, for those of you who think it does. The idiots are too prevalent. As GTP gets bigger it's quality will inevitably drop. This happens with everything.

The last thing we need is to get into a blamestorming situation.

The thing is that people like to talk, whether or not they have something to say. This isn't confined to GTP, or even internet forums. It's a fact of life in general. You always have to watch out for the quiet ones, for it is they who will change the universe.

Not every thread has to be intellectually stimulating. I actually find it quite tiring to read the Opinions forum. I also find it tiring to read the Rumours and Speculation forum, but that's for a different reason.

If people want to have stimulating discussions, they should post interesting threads, not one-liners like "yo yo wats up dawg!!1!!".

So, Jpec quit complaining, start contributing.

just curious here, how does that statement you posted there relate to me? because that line at the end is making me think that it is relating to an d scolding me somehow. Am I guilty of stating my opinion? Whatever.
BTW, I think we've basically run out of things to talk about, which would account for the lack of good topics. I do try to contribute whenever there's anything worth saying, but with the quality of threads going down the drain, those opportunities are happening less and less frequently. I honestly wish I could contribute more, but there's not alot to contribute...
