I’ve been wondering for a while now, when you enter a lobby, and the connection is questionable, is your grip actually effected? I’ve experienced a few bad lobby’s where I’ve been driving noticeably slower to make it round turns, but is that just me or is this really a thing? I’ve never believed it since gt5 and I’m still unsure of it!

With an iffy (for want of a better word) connection, then data to/from PS4 to PSN/PD may go missing. To a certain extent I think that network-centric games are programmed to cope with such loss and may try and adapt. What may be more obvious would be some sort of lag in either the control inputs you're making, or in what's being displayed to you. The result of that may make your driving experience different from normal, which you could interpret as not having as much grip as you expect.

Similarly, you may see other players' cars glitching round the track if they have a less than optimal connection.

Myth . Its all target fixation+ slipstream. I make people wreck by purposely taking the WIDEST line I can and 9/10 times they follow thinking im taking the one i'v taken the past two laps, then they go too wide into the grass/gravel . This is EXTREMELY effective in the dragon tail chichanes. Its 100% clean, but the person behind you assumes you aren't taking such a cutthroat line and follows you into their doom.
Edit Im not referring to "edging people out" that's dirty racing.
