Anyone know whether they will be adding additional older German cars as downloadable content in the future?

I feel there is some serious balance problems with regard to the German / Japanese ratio. BMW only has 19 cars in total, while there are ->26<- NSX's... Why spend your time developing 20 versions of a single model when there are some amazing cars that are not included? I realize that in the past there were some restrictions set due to rights for other developers, such as EA, however I don't believe this to be the complete cause. Let's look at Polyphony, a Japanese company, and consider why the Japanese car list is so heavy compared to any other countries list?

What really bothers me is the consistent lack of older BMW's, namely the e30 M3, which was one of the purist forms of motorsport. I think they should include the MB 190e 16 valve *vs* BMW e30 m3 championship as a complete challenge. It was a major part of motorsport history, and there are still no e30's in any GT version.

Stop putting your efforts into 20 versions of the same car, and offering Pontiac sunfire's and other POS's, and put your efforts at least towards some real enthusiast race cars.

1. I agree with you about the older M3s, but can't think of any other classic euro cars I'd want in the game off the top of my head.

2. Realize the "20 NSXs" all have effectively the same rendering model (I figure there's two, a premium and a standard one, and then minor differences applied from there), and thus did not take the amount of time it would would have taken to do 20 completely different cars.

3. If you ask me, this is the most euro-biased game in the series to date.

If you win DTM in A-spec, you get BMW 2002 Turbo.

And I agree with BMW-m-technic completely.

I want some classic Porsche racing cars - the 356 carrera little bastrd, 911R, 911ST, 908, 917 , 956 etc

The 1970 spec Gulf 917 would blow the minolta toyota away!!!

Other classic european cars I want in the game.. all also Le MANS winners I think!

Jaguar D Type
Bentley 1929 Le Mans
Ferrari 250 LM
Moby Dick Porsche
Jaguar C Type
Alfa Romeo 8C ( the original one that won Le Mans and the Mille Miglia..)
Talbot Lago Gran Sport
Stirling Moss's Mercedes 300SLR that won the Mille Miglia.

A Mille Miglia DLC would be fantastic... or TARGO FLORIO!!!!

Cologne Ford Capri... from the 70's would be pretty cool..

Then we need even more Euro bias... Where are the up-to-date
Audi A5/S5/RS5, S4, S8
Mercedes CLS, C AMG, S AMG
BMW X6, 650i, 5 Touring
VW Scirocco, Golf R, Passat CC
Peugeot TT... eh.. I mean.. RCZ
Skoda Octavia RS
Saab 900 (classic), 9-5
Alfa Romeo Mito, Giulietta '10
Fiat 500 Abarth

There is hardly anything European in this game that wasn't in GT4... :guilty:

This is where not having Porsche in the game really hurts. We have Group C cars but no 956/962, we have GT cars, but no 911 GT3 RSR, we have classic racers, but no 917 LH for Le Mans, or a 917K for everywhere else. Plus, 904's 908's, RS60's, 550 Spyders, and on and on. Oh how I would love to have a 356 GS Carrera in this game.

Not counting what else has been mentioned, where is a Ferrari 250 GTO? Or a Maserati Birdcage, Bora, or Ghibli?

If I was going to compose a list of cars that NEED to be in the "Greatest Driving game of all time" it would not include a Mazda Demio, or a Dodge Neon, or a Honda Fit, or any of a huge number of very crappy cars that are in the game. There is a car that keeps popping up in my UCD that gets me mad whenever I see it. Vauxhall Corsa Comfort. Why do we have a non sport model of ANY car in the game, let alone a POS like that?

Because Gran Turismo is about ALL kind of cars and the opportunity to drive your real car in the game. If you don't want this, you don't want Gran Turismo.

One person's crap car is someone else's treasure. :)

Another whine thread,
"Why is there no____ in this game?!"
"This games is _____!"

Nothing new, and I agree with Ace, If your so upset why are you playing GT in the first place?

But if you like driving, you don't buy a Corsa comfort do you? I've ridden horses that are more sporting.

Hopefully now Porsche is 'owned' by VW they might get in the game somehow as all the VW manufacturers are in it ....

VW owns Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda but has only about 50% share in Porsche.

As far as I know EA sits on the Porsche license exclusively, so they can sell the rights to whoever is meeting their asking price.

They need a good GT3 and GT2 class package. I want a DBRS9, and a 911GT3RS, it would be cool!

I honestly think German automobile engineering is the best in the world! There really needs to be more German cars on the list, especially BMW's! Not having the E30 M3 was already not a good start! They should have included all models of the M line straight of the bat! Also, how could they not put in the 6 series and the new Z4 in the game? Also if you look at the Audi line up, half the cars are just different versions of the R8! Also, there is a big lack of cars from Alfa Romeo such as the Tipo and the 8C!

And I know that EA and Porsche have their little contract, but couldn't there be a work around to offer the classic Porsches? EA could care less about those so it would be cool driving the old Porsches, because I loved those things!

Oh, and i think that PD may be shocked to know that Bentley makes regular cars too...

Bentley - the fastest lorries in the world -

Would be great to have the 1929 version in there...

Everything is a matter of taste honetly. I always love GT because I'm a JDM fan.

If you take the first GT you'll realize there wasnt much exotic car at that time and everyone was crying about it, now we got ferrari's lambo, mercedes, bmw etc.. so it's already a big step ahead I think.

And GT is all about having 20 version of skyline, rx-7 and other JDM crap, it was always like that and always will be I hope.

I would love to see more Euro cars too, but I understand that the progress is slow. Some obvious cars are lacking though. I finally found the MB 190 Evo, and it is beyond me why the E30 M3 is not included. Audi RS2 would be nice too.

The GT series has always been very Japan-centric. In GT4, for instance, there were more cars from a single Japanese manufacturer (Nissan) than from England, France and Italy combined. And GT4 was probably the most "international" version of the game.

I haven't checked the numbers yet, but it appears that GT5 hasn't done much to change this.

Dude and where is the E36 euro M3.... All I can say is I'm glad the best M3 is on the game... E46 M3
