Lamborghini Murcielago R GT Development Program

Can anyone here at GTP confirm or deny the rumor going around saying that Joest/Audi Sport are to take over the development of this Italian Stallion? To date the car has been nothing more than a huge disappointment, just ask Tracy Krohn! With the changes to FIA GT rules, that have I might add come with mixed reviews, would this project be something Joest would want to take on? With Joest's history in the ALMS, does the likely hood of his program coming here increase? What do you know GT Planet?

I've heard some about this. Not much more than you have apparently! I can't answer those questions but Joest might feel some pressure to come to ALMS what with the uncertainty of the GT1 class and all. It all depends on what the check book, er, suits, er... I'm not good at this... it all depends on what Audi says.

I too have seen that in a silly-season thread on another forum (no where near as good as GTP ;) ) Anyways, I've heard nothing else. I think the Author's imagination has taken over on that one. Some other pipe dream teams were on there. Including the idea of Pescarolo running a full season two car team in America. He only runs one car in Europe as I undserstand it now, so... again I don't think the rumor of the RENNtech SLK's is to credible. Of course, we can all hope, can't we?

Reinhold Joest has the exprience, resources, and the funds to tie in. With Lambo now part of VAG, access to those resources to develop the V12 exotic to be competitive.
