Whats the deal with the agreement that went bad with Lambo that GT3 made, because in the tentative version of the GT4 car list it had a fair few Lambo cars, and GT3 was supposed to have the Diablo, which made me think what is the story behind this... situation? I hope someone can give me a decent answer.

I have no idea, but I'll bet it went something like this:

Sony went around to all the car manufacturers and said, "Hey, can we use your cars in GT3?"

All the manufacturers said, "Hell yes! We love free advertizing! Just don't include car damage, because we don't want people to see our product getting beat up!"

But Porsche and Ferrari said, "Sorry, we're contractually obligated to let EA make crappy games with our cars instead."

And Lamborghini said, "Give us money! Our cars are the best! You must pay us for the privledge of including our cars!"

So Sony told them to screw off.

I bet it went like that too.

  I guess it went that way... but one other thing is that P.D. got permission from the Nomad (i think) racing team to put their car in the game, problem is they didn't get permission from Lambo. thats how the car is on the japanese version and why it was hidden on the US and removed from the Pal versions

someone correct me if i am wrong.

I pretty sure that that is correct ;) - Just to back you up.

its not hidden in tha us version... they just took it out and put tha rsx (acura) instead (Which is b-s)...

God i hope Porsche/ Lamborgini and Ferrari are in GT4

it would be so cool!

Yeah, I think Lamborghini are also commited to EA (with a large lump of money no doubt) and their crappy games (well, compared to GT3...;))

I doubt we will see Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche in GT4 because of the "exclusive contracts" that are involved. Nor will Sony ever give money to a rival game company just for the right to use those vehicles.

But Sony is getting up to speed with this "exclusive contract" tactic themselves. They just got the exclusive to certain F1 cars. Maybe some wheeling and dealing in the future will get us the "Big Three" in GT5 for the PS3? :D

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the deal between GT3 and Lamborghini didn't go bad! The deal was for only SCEE(Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) and not SCEA, and it was for that one only vehicle. I think Lamborghini was just "testing the waters" with this deal, so lets hope they let Sony include more cars and this time for us Americans.

All I have to say is within the next couple of years, Sony will dominate the market on game production. It may not be the ONLY company, but it'll be a HUGE force. Either that or it'll merge with EA.

Alpha said
but Hot Pursuit 2 is actually a good aracde game.

Well yeah, that's why I put "compared to GT3". ;)
