I've been wanting to have one of the LAN parties since I first got GT3 but never knew how. Now with GT4 around the corner I don't wanna miss out with some LAN parties on it either. But I'm not tech savvy AT ALL lol. Can someone tell me how to get one going? Please help, I won't be offended if you break it down simply for me bc thats what I really need.

I know I need 6 tvs, 6 games, 6 PS2s. That's not a prob as my friends can bring their stuff along. But what do I need to hook them together specifically, and how much does the stuff cost. What kind of wires etc etc, where can I get the,.

Will the same stuff that works for a GT3 LAN network work for GT4 too when it's out?

Please any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I'm a big noob to this type of stuff :dunce:

GT3 does not support LAN. It does support iLink (Firewire) if the PS2s being used have the iLink port in the front. The latest PS2s, including the new slim version, do not have this port. If you do have the iLnk port, you'll need a Firewire hub and appropriate firewire cables...there are several threads you can search for with details.

GT4, of course, will be LAN capable as long as you have an ethernet port on your PS2.

ahh I see. So I should just hold out for GT4 then bc once it's out thats pretty much all I'll be playing. I have the network adapter so I'm assuming I'm set as far as an ethernet port.....what else would I need? Is there like an ethernet cable I need to buy? A particular router? Sorry so new to the whole lan stuff.
