I searched but nothing found about a CHN and Japanese versions working on the same LAN.

Well. I got the Japanese version and my friend the CHN version.

Following the excelent tutorial in this link, we managed to make this two versions work with no problems, except for:

1) It crashed two times when timer reached to zero
2) It crashed three times when loading track (the spinning stuff stucked)
3) On the very first session, a lag occured.

It all happened in the beginning sessions. But later it occurred all perfectly. I'll post images when home.

My US version arrives in a few days and we'll check if asians chat with US.

I´ll manage to get a used Korean and a used Euro version. Would be nice if five PS2 with five diff versions works with no problems.

Tested between US and Japanese.

Works perfectly.

Just wonder if the different cars between versions would be able to be selected.

are you sure it works perfectly? i've tested US with Japanese

we both raced fine... but on each others screen the opponent was driving into the wall...

i disagree.... they do not talk together well.

Sorry.

Forget to say that the same errors describes on the first post also occurred when US/Japanese.

After that, just fun.

Try again.

I used a D-Link Switch. Not crosslinks.

I cannot discuss about Xlink cuz my PS2 is V10, without the xlink port. But none of that gameplay problems ocurred here. Just the connection ones.

Next weekend we´ll test 3 ps2 with Japanese CHN and US together. I´ll bring the results then.

I was talking about xlink the tunneling program not iLink.

But if the different regions work perfectly fine together on a LAN setup then that's great. There's hope the xlink problem will be solved. ;) It's really hard to find NA players on xlink with the Chinese/Japanese copy of GT4....

We'll try it after checking that link tomorrow but so far linking the PAL and NTSC J versions creates sync issues with one version running smooth and the other dropping frames and cars crashing against the wall.

We have already had the car crash issue on all Chinese versions so it is definitely not all about XLink.

Well, when running the chinese version, connection problems were more frequent.
US/Japanese did it better than Japanese/CHN or CHN/US. I dont know if it is a rumour or someting but chinese versions DO crash more than others.

Let's see how US/Japanese/CHN behave together.

I heard that there will come an online addition later on this year but is it true. Can someone confirm this because I don't like the LAN-way
