Well info about the Evo 5 or any Evo has probably been posted by countless individuals on this site but I've got something to add to the fire. It starts off with my curiosity about the Evolutions alot of my friends have and the tuning shop, not to far from me in Marysville, Ohio - Qantum Racing. They've got a 600whp Blue VIII with blue/purple (bluprle) subtle fading chameleon paint on Advan RG's. UBER NICE!!! I hear alot about how these machines are able to attack the circuit with the vengence so I wanted to test it out on GT3. :)

I get this cool idea of doing up a JUN Hyperlemon Evo 5 look-a-like but I had a blue 5 and din't want to waste the $$$ on another car. So I build up this 5 with every part concievable to man. Suspension, big FMIC, turbo, fuel, internals, driveline, big brakes, AYC and VCD controllers, chassis, stickey rubber are all thrown into the equation. I go to midfield and start street tuning, make fine adjustments here and there, tweek my differentials and transmission settings to suit my driving style. And what do you know? This son of a ***** damn near neutral steers!! I dialed out a lot of understeer and set it up so my turn in speed was pretty nasty. Gravy!

So I go back and do some more tuning to the car and I slam it, and turn off the ASM and TCS. :D Let me tell you, I was able to steer this car though the hairpin at midfield with just the throttle. I could step out the ass end and bring it back.... at my convienence. I could spin the car on a dime, or what seemed to be :)

The chicane with the elevation change after the hairpin was attacked easily with slight direction change, throttle and break manipulation. After I cleared the first turn I slid through the second with ease. I actually got the front end pretty close to the wall and didn't touch it. Keep in mind this is the first time I had drifted the car. At first I wiped out on the double pendulum turn at the end of the straight away, send time around I braked earlier but still late, came in hot and let inertia get me sideways and held the car right 3/4 way to it's critical angle through the whole turn.

I used the hand brake and did a choku-dori through the first turn in chicane that follows that turn. I used the brakes to upset the traction at the rears and rocked the car sideways through the next turn. I was able to drift uphill right hander before the first tunnel with no problems but I did have some issues carrying the drift through the tunnel into the next turn. Oh well :indiff:

Most of the drifts I pulled off with this car were damn near perfect I went to SSR5 and Deep Forest and did the same thing so the car is pretty consistent. I took the long right hander on Deep Forest between the two tunnels sideways consistantly so the car was very stable at and beyond the limits of traction. I'd recomend toying around with one of these cars for fun. I'll be back with the settings later.

I didn't stray TOO far from the stock suspension or even transmission settings but there is a considerable amount of modification done. Good times :)

I absolutely love my Evo's for drifting..... The Evo VI TM Edition being my favorite......

If you want to see some of it, check out the vid in my sig (Countersteer Zero), which Swift also pointed out....

The Evo V is a very close second.... It is an amazingly agile vehicle.....
