Is there a site which lets people input their lap times in competition against each other? I haven't checked on my PAL Prologue yet but the Chinese one I had gave out some sort of code for this I think?

Anyway, it could be done through trust assuming no one puts in a fake time, just lay down the constants as car and track and post your best lap time.

Is there already a site which does this (not too informed on the GT web community if there is one), and if not who fancies that we do one here?

Cheers! :)

How accurate are those times on granturismo.de?
example:
2 Laps New York - Honda NSX Takata

DalWing-Ruliweb - 03:05:614

how can you drop another 9 seconds under the GOLD time of 03:14:500?

It took me approximately 4 hours of starting / restarting that lesson until i finally snuck in at 03:14:254.
Fair enough my skills are no where near as good as alot of you people and i'd beleive someone running a 03:10:000. but 03:05:614?
is anyone able to provide a screenshot of a sub 03:07:000 time on that lesson? i just want to see to beleive.

ever heard of differences between the PAL and NTSC versions?
that´s one of the reasons.
another one is that the top times are from experienced drivers which do already play prologue for half a year.
and if you think 9 seconds below gold is a huge gap, look at the top times for the Fit Race car @ Citta di aria, top time is a 3´49 while gold is 4´04.

wo do verifiy the times, not all but enough to be sure the claimed times are ok,

I did the second best time there at just a tenth above. If I can dig up the replay of that from my big heap of replays (thousands - which explains something ... :D) I'll show you. But if you go to www.granturismo.de and challenge the time there in the proper forum, DalWing will certainly provide you the proof you need also - he's always complied with this so far.

I'll try the test at PAL again and see if it is slower, although I don't think so because when I tried it to just get all golds in PAL (I already did that in the Japanese, Chinese and Korean versions  ) I got a 3'07 on my first attempt I think.

sorry, I didn't mean for my post to sound so negative.
I suppose i was just frustrated at the fact that it took me 4 hours to only just get a gold when other people are going 9 seconds faster after 2 laps.
I am using PAL by the way.

And I thought i had skills..

Damn need to practice.
just got to that test on pal and was down to a 3.16.*** after about 10 attempts only a silver.
Mind you my car control through some of the 90 degrees seems ropey but damn if i no how you shaved nearly 10 seconds off.

note to self: must practice more.

heh I was like that with some of the golds. The weird thing was, when I aimed for times posted on the db, I would get gold all the time, but when I started out aiming for gold, I might be off by a bit. That's how I got through some of the harder/annoying ones like the Evo at Tsukuba, and ended up with a top 10 DB time I think.

you are not allowed to post anything about suspicious or unbelievable times at gt.de.
i asked for some of your times and also proof of them.
since you aren´t willed or able to provide any x-port/shark-port file nor video i guess you should keep your mouth untill you have proven your, in the meantime deleted, toptimes.
in contrary of your behaviour dalwing and honey always answered with a replay.

have a nice day.

Everyone is going on about the times being genuine, I have the PAL version, and although there is no mention in the manual anywhere, if you press 'X' on your best time it comes up with a passcode. I presume that this will solve all *****y arguments about genuine or not, I can only assume that Polyphony are planning an official scoreboard or something like that.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this, but I couldn't find it in this thread previously.

Its allready mentioned but theres a danger of the codes being decrypted and allowing anyone to make "real" codes for times they didnt get.

good answer 👍

For the time being I'm just gonna sit on the fact that I've got all golds in all the test's whether its by .001 or by 9 seconds I couldnt care less, I'm happy with the achievment

I believe that if you have not got a replay yourself to back up accusations you should keep your thoughts to yourself

Best said. Didn't believe what some people can do. They can drive just a second faster per lap, but we all know how much the second is.

And I don't believe to many times I have seen in past years trought the internet - I believe only when I see the full replay, screens are just partially accepted as a proof. And nine seconds sounds pretty unbelievable to me in terms of overpassing the gold.
