It seems like every time I go on GT5P i get times under #40. Is it something insignificant or special? It defiantly feels good to see those low numbers. What are some of your lowest numbers you have ever done? I've seen a couple of GTP tags in the top times. Dont forget to add details like tcs, steering wheel and simulation mode. Commence the Boasting!

And yes, I'm Talking about Time Trial Times in Arcade mode.

I have a couple of top 10 time but for the spec I dont remember :P but I do always plays with all aids off at pro with my trusty DFP
 
I think that if you can finish in the top 50 for most rankings after only doing 3 laps then your doing quite well.;)
I usually only do about 3 or 4 laps, which on most occasions gets me a top 50 Rank. 1st spot is for those that are really serious about wanting that particular title, or just don't do anything else on GT.
I don't have many 1st place rankings because I like to race online and just generally enjoy Driving in GT, but if your interested my rankings for 1st are in the Blitz Skyline.

Edit: I use a Controller and don't use any Aids at all.;)

Are we talking about Arcade TTs with a specific car or the online TTs? There will be a lot more competition with popular tracks / cars.

I was very pleased to get 11th in the Audi R8 @ Fuji with the SIXAXIS. That was on Arcade with no aids (although it is an easy car to drive). Couldn't quite break the top 10! My PSN name is Gadbury and I think I have probably dropped a few places now!

EDIT: My bro got 4th or 5th once, setting a blistering time with one of the tuned Mitsibishi Lancers on GT:HD using the D-pad! Haha... we did spend hours practising that one though.
 
Assuming we are taling about TT's, I have a cuple of firsts and top 10's on high speed ring in profession mode.

I'm doing the cars in PP order so the quickest car Ive driven so far is around the Aston Martin.

Note I don't use the GTP tag

I was like #49 for the london event, but I haven't played in 5 days or so and when I checked last night I was like 204th, oops. The lowest I've been was 7th for daytona oval, but that was many weeks ago.
 
I have held a first for about two weeks in an Audi TT around London as well as a Nissan GT-R around Fuji...I was ecstatic when I realised I was no.1!!!

Now I'm somewhere in the high 20s for the Audi time...

Like Rusty* I use a SIXAXIS with no traction control or DSC in manual...oh yeah!!

I have several top 10s with various cars in London using the controller.
pro physics aids off ABS1.

With the more popular cars I'm usually top 20 or so. What I've been finding odd is for the lesser used vehicles I'm always the top US time.

London is fantastic because lap times are low and it's easy to crank out lap after lap. There's no real deterrent from continuing if you goof up a bit.

These are all for arcade time trials. I like the fact that it's an even playing field w/o set up options.
 
I had about five or six of firsts and a few top tens. They're probably gone now it is over a month since I have played. I only drive with pro physics, all aids off and g25 wheel.
 
Before the latest update, I was 4th in the Ferrari F430 on HSR Reverse. I was 1st for a while, but was eventually knocked down a few places.

Post update, I did two laps and got back somewhere up there. It was 12th the other week, haven't checked lately.
 
Before the last update I had over 100 top 10 times on the TT. However since the last update I have taken a break from GT5P as I can't see much point of competiting for the TT if another update is likely in the Autumn.

Still when the update arrives the BRC members have agreed to hammer the TT and we have even added to our members. We are also going to start competiting in the online events which is something we haven't done yet.

The only thing that disappointed me is the level of competition on the leaderboards. For example on Forza 2 it would take a good hr of hotlapping to get a top 50 position and yet on GT5P I could quiet easily get into the top 10 after 15mins. I find it strange how other people don't bother with laptimes and stick with online racing when on Forza 2 nobody really bothered with racing and concentrated on hotlapping. In my experience of playing numerous racing games whilst belonging to various racing teams, the true competition has been for the hotlap leaderboards and not online racing.
 
Only number one I ever had was the Tuned Cappucino drift record on Eiger. I think it was 17,000 something, and then a total joke drift record #1 in a Copen. I think the ladder was only first because no one wanted to do that anyways. My time attack records are generally top 50, highest I've ever gotten was 5th on Fuji in the F1 car. Now with everyone one-upping each other, that same time would be probably 90th or so, I'd guess. Using no driving aids on my time attacks, using the Logitech GT Force wheel (the first one.. the blue icky one).

That is an incorrectly developed feature. Set diferent ABS level in GT5P only changes the pedal ratio, the pedal sense or braking power. And set it to 0 only changes this parameters a lot, and makes the game implayable. This is not ABS level.

The best ABS off in a game is the F355 Challenge one: in this game, the tires block, and the car oversteer, but the pedal travel and the brake power don´t change.

For this, if he play with ABS to 1, he plays with all aids off (why Polyphony don´t set ABS to 0 directly, or when you reset tuning settings?).

Nah I have it set at default...ABS=1.
I'm still using the controller and having ABS off makes it very hard to race 100% clean online, so I keep it at 1 so I don't cause any accidents.:)
When I get a wheel, most likely G25 I wil;l turn off the ABS, as you have much more Brake pedal travel, making it much easier to be sensitive when applying and letting off the Brakes.
I see you race with ABS off...have you got a wheel?

Before Spec II I was 2nd on Eiger with the M3, practice for trying to gold the event.

I was also 2nd in the DB9 on London reverse, and I only used S1 tyres, so I was pretty happy there! I'd just been doing a few laps on a course I hadn't driven much before, so was very surprised :)

Otherwise, I've no real clue where my times are, I tend to drift around when I play at the moment.

When you have a wheel, you still will set ABS to 1... you will see it...

We have more pedal travel, yes, but is still a little umplayable. People with ABS set to 0 are losing time per lap.

Why do you think can´t be deactivated in time trial mode, or why ABS=1 is the default setting in tuning settings?. Polyphony knows that they haven´t got a correctly ABS-off feature.
 
My lowest ranking is 8th - suzuka - nissan skyline coupe concept '07 - sixaxis - standard mode - no driving aids.

I find I can get a top 30 time after 5 clear laps, to go much quicker you have to spend lots of time lapping, which can be boring. I find consistent race pace more satisfying than one perfect lap for half a dozen wrecked laps.
 
On Eiger i normaly need 2 laps to get a top 10 time after 15-60 min im first. Depends of the 1st place skill. :sly:

I agree:tup: I think that when racing online consitency is of most importance, of course you still have to be quick but theres no point in putting in 110% if your going to crash out. Crashing costs you more time than you gain trying to go that bit faster.;)
