Lap Times on the complete "Nordschleife "!

So after the little "Time-Limit-Problem" was solved by Pricer and VV, lets go:

1st try:

120i
arcade tyres
9:12 Minutes
(with one little crash that costed maybe 4 Seconds)

It´s not that easy to drive at the limit for about 9 Minutes and make no mistakes

that was using a ds2 tho, hopefully, when my new cockpits done, ill get some better times using the dfp.

What is the difference between the various tires tho?

meh, arcade tire times are useless guys, too many variables (ways to cheat... really)

lets keep it real, lets use both road tires and sports tires (the difference between road and sports tires is a LOT)
i'm getting something like 9'03,xxx with sports and about 9'35.xxx with road tires.
i'll give it an "oficial run" later today when i show the demo to a friend, i'll post my times with both tires. ^_^

What demo has this course, where is it available?
Is this different than the German BMW demo?

Or is this a similar item to replacing tracks in Prologue?

Sorry, this has nothing to do with laptimes, but sometimes I feel guilty playing Prologue, thinking it is taking something away from the upcoming GT4 launch. Its like I'm somehow spoiling the surprises by driving on Citti or NYC. You guys are already racing and competing on the Nurb, which is probably one of the biggest "surprises" that GT4 offers. Do you feel guilty at all?

That said, I am jealous of you all. Lucky bastards. :)
 
Can someone move this to the Online Racing Thread? I think that would be the appropriate. The GT4 Board is for new news or details about the game, If the BMW demo was big enough, I'm sure that it would get it's own category. But even if it did (like Prologue, it wouldn't be posted there. It would be posted in the OLR Forum. Thanks.

nobody forces you or kamus to use arcade tires. :)
 
There's nothing wrong with comparing Arcade tyre times... If you're using the same tyre then you can compare it?!

My runs are 100% clean, with always two wheels on the track and no contact. :rolleyes:
 
Okay, one more "OFF-TOPIC" question..
But can someone tell me where can I find the REAL laptimes of cars (production stock cars preffered) on the Nurb' Nordschliefe?
I did a search on google and after a lot of hunting I could find a page where there were laptimes of Leman Race Cars Laptimes. But since I am on DialUp and most of these pages are heavy, if someone can spoon feed me and post a link I'd really appreciate it..

simply go in turn "Klostertal 2" (that´s the turn before the famous "Karussel") straight forward to the beginning of the "Steilstrecke" and voila Finish!!!
possible a major Bug!! :dunce:
 
ok, here's my best time so far with the 120i

Car: 120i (duh)
Tires: Sports
DSC: OFF
Transmition: MT
Controller: Driving Force PRO
TIME: 8'59.097

actually, it's a lot easier with the dual shock, because the gameplay is dumbed down for it (it would be imposible to play it on the dual shock if it wasn't)

the main difference in tires are of course, grip. arcade tires are completley unrealistic, sports grip a LOT better than road tires, i'm getting about 20-30 seconds less with sports than i can do with road.

i'm not questioning if you stay on the track or not, but the fact is arcade tires makes "mistakes" like late braking pretty much moot, so by making those "mistakes" you are shaving tons of time, then there's the fact that you can "mistakingly" get at a corner at a speed wich should drive you of the track, but this tires get grip out of nowhere and yet another "mistake" is forgiven, arcade tires are fine for people who don't want to invest the time learning how to drive on the track (they will make lots of mistakes, but GT4 won't punish them). but if you really want to take the time and learn driving skills then arcade tires are pretty much useless.

post your times with sports tires, i'm pretty sure you'd give me a run for my money ^_^

As Flinx said, nobody forces you to use arcade tires. So you can't force someone to use road or sport tires. ;)

if you want to invest some time, give them road tires a go.

and i´m not questioning if people stay on the track all time but if they post lap times this times should be done in a proper manner.

maybe it´s time to close this here and start a real spot race.

btw, i´m down to

as i still learn the track i guess a sub 9 minute on road tires for the diesel will be possible.

very nice time man!
haven't tried road tires in a while, just used those at the start, but my times SUCKED, got to learn the track using sports, so i guess i'll have to try road to see how i compare, anyway, i know "sports" tires are more "forgiving" but they are still considered to be realistic, arcade tires on the other hand completley defy the laws of nature, that's the reason i think that road/sports tires (even racing if they were available) times are worth more than arcade tires times.
i just made a run with the disel again and was doing extremley well, but in the corner that's just before the last one i went in too fast and went off the track, but i didn't lose much momentum and still managed to break the 120i record i had.
i did something like 8'56.xxx, i'm pretty sure that if i hadn't gone off the track it would be at least one or two seconds less. (this is with the disel BTW)
There's a few sections of the track i could still be faster on... (around the middle of the track, where evrything gets very crazy and you have to be in third gear most of the time because the corners are one after another).
I agree that we should start a real competition. 👍
It should be good practice, and then when GT4 finally comes out we'll be leaving evryone in the dust ^_^.
 
I think that you didn't understand the second degree behind my words ... well ok, it's the last time that I try to be funny ... now I go back to my bytes ...
 
VV: Kamus could misunderstand you because you only used 'lol' smile :). You should have used ';)' too. Ahh.. Internet.. We should be talking on live, while drinking a beer now and talking about gt4 ;). Easy guys :).
