Laptop beeps on startup and crashes every few seconds

Forgive my ignorance but a strange problem has developed with my laptop in the past couple of days

It's a Lenovo G570 running Windows 7... it's only 8 months old and it's never got particularly heavy use

On Tuesday I powered it up as usual but all I got was a black screen and a continuous beeping sound... eventually I was forced to power off manually

Yesterday, it booted up perfectly fine but it was running very slowly and froze every few seconds

This morning, the beeping returned, so once again I couldn't boot up at all

I realise that this could be one of a million things but has anyone ever experienced anything similar?

Any clues would be much appreciated
 
Doesn`t sound good - more like a serious problem. I`m not an expert and I would use warranty and give/send back the item.
 
What kind of beep.

Short.Short.Short Pause Short.Short.Short Pause Short.Short.Short.

Or is it similar.
 
Every second, no pauses, very loud

It's still under warranty but for all I know the problem could be relatively simple. Obviously this beep is trying to tell me something...
 
The bips are the diagnotic report.

Depending on how it bips it says what problem it has.

googleif you can find the diagnotic list for your pc, but if it's under warranty, return it
 
I remember, back in the day, one beep signalled 'all is well', two meant 'no it's not'. Nowadays though, multiple beeps, its pretty much contact manufacturer time.

I am curious that it started up, it's almost like, the ram is malfunctioning, it came loose, then one of the chips reseated itself, and has fallen out again, hence it won't start. If the HDD worked then and now (booted) but the system slowed, most things should've been working, and it would still all work if it were just less ram too.

Anyway GL, let us know what happens.
 
Interesting... I've just booted it up again and it's back to how it was yesterday (still useable but crashing every few seconds)

I can see a pattern developing here, so I'm expecting to hear the beeps next time I turn it on

Beep codes are just one way to diagnose a issue, Some PCs uses use alphanumeric codes
Eg: 02D0 means CPU issue, these codes are either shown at POST or by using a PCI diagnostic card.
