If no race car in the world is American enough, let it be the "stock" car. These machines are presumably cars that retain all or most of their production car looks, carry a lot of weight, and a killer V8. But if you think they are all ugly, you MAY like these late model stock cars. I don't know exact terms for some of these race cars as I am not totally committed to America-only race car series, but these machines are lower to the ground, wide on the sides, and just simply looks better. I personally envision that some American race team experiments with making them more like Trans-Am race cars, only with functional lights and doors. If I find pictures of these types of cars, you can do your own envisioning. But for the most part, if you want to share something about the beautiful swans that seperates from the ugly ducklings, reply after this next paragraph.

So, what do you think about these stock cars? I'm no stock car fanatic, but these are pretty nice. If you like these cars, here's another website I found (http://www.southern-allstars.com/). Just click on the "Photo Gallery" link and check out some of the rides. By the way, I'd recommend the asphalt late models to look at. I just love the low and wide nature of these machines. Now if only someone can make them look and perform like GTS (now GT1, I hear) race cars and have some Trans-Am looks and with functional lights at the rear and front, Im'a tell you something. These would be my favorite American race cars outside of sportscar racing.
