•Improved Rewards: The rewards for winning races in both A-Spec and B-Spec in [GT Mode]-[GT Life] have been increased for a limited time only. (This applies until the end of January 2011.) This is a great chance for those who were previously having difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to a lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

Anyone else annoyed about this? I mean, I've almost completed A-Spec and I'm at the sharp end of B-Spec, and now, all of a sudden, all of the rewards for completing races will be worthwhile.

I'm sorry, but, if I have done these races already, am I going to get these extra cars aswell? Or am I going to be left out because I've got on with the game? My guess is I'll just get ignored and I'll lose out.

Oh btw, PD, thank you so much for gifting me a Jaguar XJ-13 for winning the Indy 500 when I already traded for a Jaguar XJ-13 a week ago!

This just gets more and more stupid!
 
For one... There is no "extra cars" given as prizes. If you read what you quoted.. It says prize $ and XP will have a significant boost about 20%. No new cars will be given away as prizes.

Second.. PD Didnt tell you to go trade for the car. Looks to be your fault for trading away for a car that you were going to win anyways for completing a race.

How you can think that's anyone's fault but your own is beyond me.

"I'll trade for this car that might possibly be unlocked sometime throughout the course of the game."

Since you have the car twice, why don't you trade one of them for something else you may want (and not care to have 2 copies of).
 
I'm not annoyed at the increased awards, just the limited time thing. For some reason I have a hard time getting my PS3 to download updates, so I might not even get to enjoy that feature.

I'd be surprised that even if you missed this one there won't be another limited time event in the near future. If the game is going to be updated weekly/monthly, then the next update should have some events that could be just as fun, if not more so than these.
 
It just annoys me as it just shows badly for the game. For example, I shouldn't be being gifted cars that I already have, it shows lack of intelligence on the games part. But thats what GT5 seems to be all about atm, lacking intelligence, disappointing. It will be nice to actually get a useful update from PD at some point.

What I'm saying is surely it is a very simple thing to do for PD to go:

"Right, so we have give them the option to trade cars, so maybe they might get the car twice (because they have no way of knowing what cars they will unlock) so maybe we should have two potential prize cars, and when they complete that championship, we'll check the garage, and if they have one car, we'll gift them the other car instead."

Makes perfect sense to me (As it is basic logic) ... Hopefully, again, there will be an actual useful update that fixes things like this.
 
I think its awesome and would like to extend my thanks to PD. Seriously dude, from what it says in the news article(still downloading patch) they've addressed some of the issues that have been brought up since release. Hell they're not really issues, they've just tweaked the game to improve it.

I'm sure it took Codemasters longer than this to fix actual problems with F12010 that they should have known about before release.

Have you done any endurance races yet? Would you want to spend two hours and twenty four minutes racing 200 laps of the Indy 500 just to be given a car that you already have?

Tell you what, you go and do a twenty four hour race just to be given a car that you already have. See how happy you would be about that.

F1 2010 is much better than GT5 in the similarities the two games have. The AI is better, I've had much better races on there than on GT5. The AI don't run up the back of you, they can actually try and find an overtaking line. General racing is much better, and they can actually get wet and dry right aswell as the actual tyres that should and shouldn't be used.

I'd like to see PD get that right, as that is more important, than being able to switch a HUD on and off. Useful update please! Don't just tweak things that aren't important!

Wow PD can't do right. They screw up they make attempts to change things and complaints start about the changes. Everybody is entitled to thier opionion but PD should fire some of thier customers. Just to hard to make happy. I loved it when I dated a hair Stylest, she was very good at her job over 200k a year and if a client complained too much she fired them. Just said "maybe I'm not the sylest for you" of course the client came back crying for her to fix what their new Stylest screwed up. I just thought it was cool to be in the position to tell paying clients YOUR FIRED AS MY CLIENT!!

Just wanted to know whether anyone know when will PD fix jaggy, blocky shadows in GT? I know that they have said few weeks ago that they will improve this in a future update but its not fixed in the latest update 1.05

Some people will never be happy. They will always find something to cry about. No matter how small of a problem it is, they want to cry about it. I don't see them applying to PD to become a computer scripts writer or apply for whatever job you need in order to design and write the game. They rather just complain about something in order to hear themselves talk.

If you were smart you would have looked at the prize car list to see if that was one of the cars you would be winning soon and waited. It is no ones fault but your own. Get over it.
 
I'm unsure about you guys, but with this new update I don't think I'll ever be able to put down GT5. :scared:
 
Now is a great time to increase the rewards for races. As new players get this game for a holiday gift it will be nice for them to catch up a wee-bit faster to their online peers.

As far as feeling jipped, or cheated, or some other type of 'unfair' disappointment, I completely disagree. I got this game the day it came out and have been playing for weeks. IMO there is more value in that then any 20% increase in prizes. If I really wanted a car enough to trade for it, and then got the same car later I would still be super-happy I got to race that car (even if for just one race) before I later unlocked it. I have a bunch of duplicate cars as it is now that I got because I liked the color :).

I already paid my $$ for the game I got on release day that I was in love with. I don't have to pay for these updates that PD puts out, and I don't have to pay for online play! It is a nice service, and a great marketing move, on PD part to keep these updates coming (it is likely PD had the updates waiting to push prior to launch day ... it is not as if the dev team and make code changes and roll out a tested release in a 7 day timebox, LOL)

Guess what? I would do a race even if I had the car that I'd win because this is a racing game and I enjoy to race.
 
does anyone know exactley how long this extra xp and cr rewards are going to last for? i was thinking of starting a new profile to get a good boost. or maby ill try and get to level 21 idk

For real thats how I am feeling. Sorry but they should of left the Xp and Creds how it was. Its gonna anger the peeps who are already finished.
 
its pretty retarded they just now increased the prizes, its common sense especially when PD expected us to buy million dollar race cars, or a 250k lambo to win a lambo only event. but oh well, im enjoying the bigger prizes for the races I haven't done yet.
