250hp Ferrari engine? So they could have just put a supercharged K20 in it and actually been faster cheaper, more reliable, and lighter.

It reads like the two rear wheels are connected as one solid unit. So all that's gonna do is spin out like a welded diff.

Yes , but then it would not have a Ferrari engine in it.

If I were to brag to my billionaire buddies that my quad-thing has a Ferrari engine, it needs to have more power than a Camry.

I was joking with the Ferrari engine thing. But I think the whole point of have one is because it has Ferrari parts on it,even if it is point less.

I knew this all looked familiar:

So they've built another one, with a smaller engine (where'd they find a 250 horsepower Ferrari motor that isn't in a museum? Or did they simply detune a 360 motor?) and M3 parts. Still ridiculously heavy and probably more dangerous than a motorbike.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't want to drive one...

How much power is in a 308 motor?

They might be close enough together that that isn't really an issue. It looks like it's more of a trike that needed the two wheels in the back to have enough grip to get the power down.

Also, correction for the OP... It's a V8, not a W8. I was wondering if there was a Passat engine in it for a while.

Should be around there. The 355 motor is just over 300 hp, if I recall.

The question is why settle for an old, fiddly, less powerful Ferrari motor? Or perhaps it's merely a detuned modern one?

355 HP should be more than enough for something that sized.

Paint it black, add some missiles, and voila, Batman's quadbike.
