Le Man 24 hour endurance

In arcade with say 10 laps set, it goes to night at about 6 laps, but then stays night until the end of the race.

So question: does anyone know if it changes back to daylight at any point?.

I'm assuming it does in the 24 hour endurance, but maybe you get daylight one half of the race, night-time the second half. I'm unlikely to play 24 hours non stop, so will probably never know unless some one actually completes that event.
 
I've been wondering this too with both Le Mans and Nurgburgring. I did a 10 lap race in arcade there and it went to night after the 2nd lap and came back to day on the 8th lap so I'm not sure why it stayed dark for you.
