Well, with the new endurance save system, I'm gonna try my hand at it too.
Using a R8 '05 (Playstation Team Oreca livery) with everything stock (RH tyres, suspension, transmission, brake balance, aerodynamics, LSD reverted to stock).

My grid looks this way (this is not starting order, can't remember it):

R8 '01 (Yellow #2)
Pescarolo '05
V12 LMR
Bentley Speed 8
Toyota GT-ONE
Pescarolo '04
R10 TDI
R8 '05
Viper #51
Viper #91
Mclaren F1
R390 GT1 Race Car

Gonna post updates after each hour.

1st hour - Lap 17 - Fastest lap: 14th lap with 3.28:548

Race was pretty competitive on the first 4 laps, with a constant battle between me, the other R8 and the Hybrid Pescarolo (2005), with some attacks from the BMW V12 LMR and the Pescarolo Judd GV5 (2004). Then I had make pit stop in lap 5 because my rear tires we're gone (was learning the car). Entered in 5th, came back in 10th and started trying to put down an 1 minute diference to the leader. Before my second pit in lap 11 (probably I'm going to be the car that will enter more times in pits, stints between 5 to 8 laps), I was 5 seconds behind the Bentley and the V12 LMR. As I needed less fuel then both, came back in 3rd (same postition that I entered, because the other R8 and the 2005 Pescarolo had passed me) Currently I'm in 2nd, running to take down a 9 seconds diference. Pitting in this lap (17) for my 3rd pit and I'm suspending the race so I can come back tomorrow for some more hours.

Good luck with the race. Once you learn the car, you will be able to extend the life of those tires. I learned not to mash the gas coming out of the Porsche curves, that saved me time and tires as I was not sliding around. Feather the gas through the porsche curves as there is not much need for brakes. It takes some practice.

Thru the Porsche turns I can brake then mash the gas, as the tires don't slide. My main concern about mashing the gas is on the turn before the 1st Porsche turn, which you make it in 2nd, around 70-80 km/h, the Mulsanne chicanes and the 1st chicane and the last 2 chicanes of the circuit. Those plays I'm being really careful on the gas.

And I'm here to say that lights went out here for 5 minutes, which made me retire the 24hrs of Le Mans (I had continue the race and I didn't suspend it)...

Dam You Electric Companies

Yeah lol got really mad. Gonna try that later, but the race is very fun to do, but you need a slower car to make a pretty competitive race so you don't get bored thru the race like I was getting with an hour and half passed.

Just as a note the AI uses Racing Medium in this race...
Im doing this race also (5 hours in) and Im using the CLK-GTR with Racing Medium and 3 stage Turbo... I pit every 8/9 laps and at the moment Im ahead but for 20 seconds only and I pit more times than the second place car (10/11 laps) :ouch:

Its going to be close...

Seriously ? So how they we're with fresh RM tires and me with old RH tires and I still could open like 10-15 secs per lap ?

Because they are driven by the AI... Im using a GT1 car with 820bhp and 1000 kg agaisnt cars with over 900 BHP and less than 900 kg and Im still leading (or was by 5 seconds before I went to the pits into 6 hours of race)

PS: I started the race once and couldnt keep up because I was using Racing hards (and the CLK GTR) so I quited after 9 or 10 laps and watched the replay... and thats how I know the AI uses racing medium wich was a big suprise to me also.

I Will Give a Try This Weekend, Maybe My Stock Bentley Wins
